That's the point, I prefer devastation where you can see the bigger picture. It means that the only way is to rebuild into something that is potentially better that what came before it.

Endless years of 'meh' is the Western Bulldogs in which we can become so desensitised into thinking it's normal. What self-respecting Carlton supporter wants that? We can become so desensitised that we don't recognise what it is or takes to go that extra step. Just different degrees of 'meh'.

Hey Paf, just remind me how wanting to lose will make us a better side in the future?

The devastation was the Saints loss, and the North one.
I also seriously doubt that if we lose tonight the feeling will be 'meh'.

I don't know, I've not analysed how a close(ish) win against a side like Brisbane will go any way to snagging us number 17 either.

I was being philosophical, trust the posters on a sports forum to take things literally.

I'm not sure about tonight either but it's more the case of being a Saturday night game at Etihad for me - I'm very meh about the result no matter what happens but I just hate feeling like I'm giving up a Saturday night to sit in that shitheap.

I really hope next year we can get some ACTUAL DAY GAMES. I think we've only had 3 so far? (not counting 3.15 games as day).

btw, I will be going tonight (unless I convince myself between now and then not too). First game in quite a while for me. Our draw has been horrendous in terms of me making games.

Brad.

How many games have you been to this year?

I think this will be the 4th game.

Far cry from the mid to late 90's where I was seeing about 20-25 games a year.

I am off to the game. I actually dont mind the Saturday night games, as someone mentioned a Saturday afternoon game would be good, think that is next week but could be wrong.
Go blues.

I'm going. We should win and win easily but who knows. Which side will turn up?

I hope to see good games out of OKeefe, McInnes, Watson, Casboult & Bell as its their improvement that will help us in 2013.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how Bell, Robbo, McLean, Touhy do. Nice to see some real hard nuts in the side.

The other move I liked to see is Yarran on the ball. For the next four weeks let him hunt and learn to keep working. I watch Bennell & Jetta and believe Yarran has as much ability. Now needs to learn how how to keep pushing when he fatigues.

If Brown gets on top early I suspect we'll drop our collective bundle and lose comfortably

Yep! It's as simple as that.

I want us to win every game, and despite the fact I'm still devasted over every and any loss this year, I am looking forward to this game tonight....coz we're going to play and coz we have a great chance of winning.

Carlton on TV. What's better than that? Watching them live anywhere....that's what!
You guys in Melb are so lucky to be able to drive, ride or walk to a Carlton game and watch them LIVE
...don't take things like that for granted...you lucky so and so.

2012 isn't over and I know how bad it is when it is over and have to wait till the Feb preseason games, so I value tonight's game.
22 lads in the dark navy blue.

We can win the next 4, and there's a really good chance that the following can happen for us to keep season 2012 alive after round 23:

Essendon* to lose against NM, Carlton and Collingwood...may even lose to Tigers too.
Freo to lose against Adelaide and NM...may even lose against Togers too.
STK to lose against Geelong and Carlton.

If that happens and we would have built a fair bit of momentum and belief, and the handful of kids would add the enthusiasm to take us further than many suspect. That's how it works in finals: luck, momentum, determination, will, desire, never give up. Think about it. Bell, Casboult, McInnes, maybe O'Keefe tonight have shown a bit and deserve their spot ahead of Duigan etc. That's what I'm talking about.

If we make the finals, and there's pressure for spots....can only be postive for our 2012 season...not delusional, but possible. Injuries to other teams and someone above gives us a break....that's what we have to look for.

Never say DIE.

We are Carlton, and have been developing since the draft penalties ceased to slow us down. We've hit a bad patch after round 3, but have been improving of late.

Tonight's game must be a win. Every game should be a win. I enjoy watching the Bluebaggers win. Live is a bonus.
I couldn't give a shit about any other team...I barrack for Carlton and proud of the fact.

Carlton by 6 goals tonight.

Judd comes back in the team next week...maybe Jamison too...with Robbo and Tex back today, Warnock gently being eased in readiness for a return at the business end of the season...mmmm its all coming together.

Carlton have to win tonight's game. Losing isn't an option, and never enjoyable....except maybe the Kreuzer Cup.

No Thornton for the Northern Blues so he may be a late change tonight.

Can't remember the other emergencies but Collins, Ellard, Lucas all played in the 2's.

Thanks marci. Both played at Willy and ran all day long in the mud... so no late starters for those two. For interest Ellard was Ellard and Collins was terrible.

For who? Must admit, hadn't heard of him until he was interviewed on the news this week. Don't watch much footy these days.
