In - A.Walker, R.O'Keeffe, M.Robinson & M.Watson

If correct that is one seriously inexperienced backline.

Their treatment of Ellard and Collins isn't that flash either.

Given Collins' role through the midfield, he's been squeezed out rather than poorly treated. Ellard is a foot soldier, and really doesn't rate a game ahead of anyone there. The outs are right, it's the ins I'm a little less enthusiastic about.

Brisbane will certainly stack up their forward line. Who have they got, Brown, merrett?

I would be shattered if brown has hs usual day out against us.

I think I may have overrated our depth. That team on paper looks really average. Great to see Curnow is still in the team.

Collins is young and needs to be given a fair run. Continuity is important.

I rate Ellard way ahead of Curnow. Quicker, just as hard and can kick goals. I rate him in the same mould as Carrots. He will just get better and better.

Great to see ROK in. Hopefully hell play a full game at HB.

I just hope we dont go too defensive. I want to see Armfield, Carrots, Robinson, Bell, Gibbs hunt the ball and win possessions.

Should win easily.

Wow, nice photos, Ed!

Pretty sure he's been carrying niggles most of the season. Pulls short on a lot of kicks but still covers more territory for more minutes at a faster pace than Ellard.

Lucas has been continually unlucky not to snag a spot in the side however, and I completely understand him turning in average performances in the VFL when he asks the coaching staff what to do, sets about doing it and still doesn't get picked. Would have O'Keeffe or Garlett's spot in the team if he still had some self-esteem.

Cannot agree with any of that, and what's more I've seen nothing but evidence to the contrary when it comes to comparing Curnow's pace to Ellard's. The whole 'Curnow is slow' theory is pure fantasy.

Ellard works hard but because he's below average pace and size in an AFL midfield, he also contributes below average TOG minutes. He's knackered after about 72% game time.

Got some really hard nuts and body size in the side for once.

Bell, McLean, ROK, Robinson, Touhy add some real mongrel.

I like it!

Maybe Ellard will come in for Bell. Don't mind that being the case. Giving newbies a breather is a tactic used by the Pies and they have a good record of developement.

I would rarely pick Ellard ahead of Curnow. Doesnt get to as many contests and isnt as good at holding the ball in packs. Curnows last two weeks have been below par though. Collins form has slipped lately. Needs to earn his spot or he will think its ok to make the mistakes he has been making. I like him as a player though.

Don't mind the lineup. Scotland or Gibbs in the back half will be required for experience.

Should be a good game of footy.

I don't agree Jimmae. Ellard was recruited as a small zippy forward pocket. He has real pace especially over 20m. his testing proved that.

Personally I would like to see Ellard play small forward rotating through mid. Garlett needs to play more mid as well. Have them rotating as part of mid group just makes us more dangerous. Have guys like Murphy, Judd, Gibbs all pushing through forward line gives us more options which we need. Bell, McLean, Robbo do the hard work.

What's ROK Like as a defender ?

That's backline doesn't appear very nimble.

Testing proves nothing if you don footy boots and can't reproduce it. It just shows you don't know how to translate your own physical attributes into a high level of performance.

Anyway, here's the video:

Disappointed to see Collins ommitted.

His form may be up and down but I think he'd benefot more from stringing 8 games together than a spell in the VFL.

If Brown kicks 10 he might single handedly have terminated 2 coaches at Carlton...

Like to see us line up like this:

B: Z.Tuohy M.Watson S.White
HB: C.Yarran A.McInnes R.OKeefe

C: J.Garlett B.Gibbs K.Simpson
Foll: M.Kreuzer M.Murphy A.Carrazzo T.Bell

HF: J.Waite M.Robinson
F: E.Betts L.Casboult A.Walker

Int: D.Armfield E.Curnow B.McLean (H.Scotland)

No tagging. Just let the guys play.
Gibbs to play in the guts.
Walker needs to play deep. Casboult creates a contest.
Garlett on a wing
Good kicking defence. Should create.
Scotlands turn to be sub.

McInness, Tuohy and Yarran aren't going to get turned inside out by their opponents. The rest are.

I'd be very surprised if Rhys starts in defence.

Not happy with Collins' omission... meanwhile Garlett needs another week to learn how to kick 40 meters and not trip over his own feet.

Happy to see RoK get a go.

Happy with the ins & the outs are about right. May have had Collins in but someone's gotta to give and Walker & Robbo ace him.

Only thing I'm not sure McInnes will play on Jono Brown.
