Season is still alive.
Must win next 4 - no if's but's or maybe's.
Essendon* need to beat Kangaroos however.
Collingwood need to beat Kangaroos.
Fremantle need to beat Kangaroos.
Richmond need to beat Essendon*.

If all of the above happens we get in by a game.
If Essendon* beat Richmond it comes down to % - same goes for Kangaroos / Fremantle game.
Season not over but we need things to fall our way now.

freo will beat melb and richmond so they would have 14 wins

better north beat them which leaves freo on 13 and norrth on 13 and back oursleves to pun brisbane and gold coast

we can only dream on

each to their own I guess.
can't all be mr positive like you JD.

Nah I agree with JD !!

We must take our opportunities to make our own destiny, not
to rely on others to make it for us.

We had our chances and we flower blew it, end of story !!!!

The statement was made that we were to finish top four at the end of home and away,
we're not even gonna make finals.

What are the consequences ?

Different argument. What will be - will be but for now we still have a glimmer of hope and that is all!!!

I accepted the fact that our season was over after the Geelong loss... life is easier when you don't have high expectations.

Time for Ratts to embrace reality and play the kids...

The only thing I want to see from now on is to beat Essendon* and StKilda and knock them out of the finals

Season has been shot for months now lets get some joy out of it

Forget finals. We have no chance.
Beating Essendon* is what we should prime ourselves for.
In a way, they derailed our season. Lets return the favour.

When you get to "if x beats Y and F beats G but by less than 5 goals" then you are out of finals.

Rubbish. If we win all our games and North or Freo only secure four points in their game against each other in the final round, and we beat GC by 10+ goals, we can actually scrape in.

It's not all over just yet, and it's not some ludicrous percentage boost either.

How can we possibly beat Essendon* if they play a forward line that features Hurley, Ryder, Crameri and Gumbleton (not all there at the same time, of course).

We'll be without Jamison, Henderson and Laidler.

Our tall backs will be selected from McInnes, White, Watson, Davies and Bower.

If they win anywhere near 50% midfield we'll get murdered.

If, and this should be a big "IF", we were to lose to Gold Coast,

would we expect to see the same thing happen here as to what happened

at Port Adelaide ?

As hate the Scum as much as the next person. And I want to destroy them. But I want them to get into the finals in 8th again. i think it will bring more pleasure watching them speared by 15 goals in the finals for the third year running than watching them just miss out.

Bullshit. Most satisfying will be seeing them miss the finals.

I'd go as far as declaring this season a success if that were to happen.

If Blues (or Saints) make the finals we will have 1-2 days less recovery.

Imagine Eagles vs Blues Friday night Elimination final at PS (worst case?)- Eagles 7 days rest us 5 days.

Or Blues vs Pies at MCG (best case?) Sat Night - Pies 7 days rest us 6 days.

That's the price of finishing 8th

not that it's gonna happen anyway.
