Competitive against the top team in the competition for the majority of the match.

4 goals in 10mins in the 2nd quarter set up the margin for them.

I thought White showed something and Casbault showed he can hold onto a few marks.

Score meant nothing. They toyed with us and Longmire was not happy.

Sydney play a great disciplined game that will serve them well in finals. They are a club with a great culture and structures.

Something which we should try and emulate.

Not our worst effort by a long shot, but we were never really in it. Our inability to impact the game early in the first three quarters was the biggest difference.

Too often we get exposed by teams playing a spare man in defence. I know we're undermanned, but too often we just seem to bomb it in to a two on one contest and inevitably our opponents can often get the ball out of our F50 unimpeded.

Most of our players were below par today, but at least there weren't any signs of players dropping their heads and giving up.

Pleased to see Casboult and Bell getting a good run at it, even if its by necessity.

I know Simon White made some bad errors today, but he also showed a few good signs. I'd like him to play the year out. Give the kid some decent time in the seniors and see if he can build his confidence.

Random thoughts:

Jeez look at the backline we finished with.

McInnes, Davies & White as our KPB. To think we got within 20 points of the ladder leaders shows we had some resolve and pride.

Davies struggles horribly. I hate to write him off, but I wouldn't be too phased if I never saw him on the field again in the navy blue.

Someone said they'd rather chase and pump money into a KPB rather than Cloke. With Jamison struggling to stay on the park, I'd be inclined to agree. Levi looks the goods, and with Waite & Henderson providing CHF options we may not be as thin up front as we thoght we were a month ago.

Bell is a ripper. Curnow is not. Give Bell Curnow's job when Robbo comes back.

I'd be inclined to rest Kreuzer and run with Warnock for the ext week or two, let the kid's body mend and heal.

I hate Eddie being forced to push up the ground by our forward's coach -- btw who is our forwards coach? Surely we can get other guys around the stoppages without asking Betts to go up there. Saw many crumbs from legit contests from Waite & Cas, only go uncontested to the swans.

Which leads me to the Swans. The are a hard working gut running team. They'll go well in September. I don't think I've seen a team spread as well or run as hard as what they do. Throw in the fact they're a high footy IQ team, they run into space and find the ball and they'll be tough to stop.

Their forward line will be their achilles. They probably won't get out of a prelim final as its currently constructed.

Season over and still four games to go,
Kernahan is a walking memorabilia piece, not a president.
On today : the importance of development, so many players who you wouldn't even take in the PSD yet good contributors for the swannz.
White starting forward, great idea ....not.

For the money it would cost to get Cloke we could probably attract a pair of handy talls for for forward and defence.

We'll never get full seasons out of Waite and Jamo, so best to plan accordingly.

If we do make a serious attempt at Cloke we may as well shut up shop for the nek few years.

One thing the swans have got is leadership that is what we really have to get at this club.

It's an often overused term in footy these days, but the Swans have a well known and admired culture about the way they go about the game.

Right now, we don't.

It's hard to judge or criticise individual players. As mentioned Swans get the best out of every player.

Simply, we don't. IMO we have a lot of talent but are either played out of position or just confused.

Until we change the culture and expectations of our club we won't be challenging top 4 anywhere in the near future.

We're still very predictable, and our field kicking to each other is woeful.

I think the 22 pt. loss flatters us in that we never looked likely to win, but I was pleased we outscored them in the last qtr; and it wasn't junk time for them either.

Casboult and Bell are examples of the youth who are our future whilst we still have Simmo; Carrots and Judd to show the way.

I thought we ordinary today. Never in it. Swans were average and coasting. The biggest concern for me was watching the game on Friday night and comparing that to today. I know we have a few injuries but the difference in clean disposal and team work was huge. Maybe I am being too pessimistic but I just can't see how we can bridge that gap with these sides based on some of the players we had in the team today. A hallmark of a poor side is turnovers and simple mistakes. We made plenty today and have been doing so all year. I don't want to be known as a side that tries hard but has poorly skilled players who simply aren't up to it. Reminds of the Bulldogs over the last 50 years. Now being more optimistic, things can change quickly when you turnover some players (about 6) and hire a coach who allows us to play with a lot more system and purpose. Oh well, wasn't expecting much today and we are now officially out of the finals race. We can focus on next year.

That rocket ship firing players deep into space.. should be piloted and co piloted by Sticks and Ratten.

You cant have playmakers focussing on shut down roles..and think youre gong to win

Yes, i think Carrazzo is in raptures about Ratten being coach .... his face told the story

Even with Casboult in the team and Waite we kick it long to the pocket... sometimes to Eddy.. or sometimes to Garlett

I think we may have some promising youngsters on our list. Lets hope we get the right people to this club to make sure they are developed to their full potential.
