I dont see any attributes that davies has at this stage to suggest he will become a midfielder in what were hoping is a top 4 side! The signs so far arent great eg running into an open goal v saints round 22 last year after a sensational betts tap on and missing by blazing away under no pressure at all, giving away stupid free kicks in important finals, fumbling etc. Lets hope he turns into a solid back pocket!

Yeah I remember that open goal against the Saints as well, and for mine, he must be one of Ratten's "favourite", that is the only way he is getting a game.
Sometimes you can see something in players very early on, like levi casboult, but Davies has proven anything yet. I would be happy to be proven wrong but Marcus Davies is a liability in the team at the moment!

Marcus Davies is a great size for a footballer... looks ok at times but is extremely error prone (looks goofy at times) at this stage of his development.

We're not playing finals this year and so I don't mind seeing if he can improve... but there are others I'd like see have a chance if he fails to show something.

I'm surprised OKeefe hadn't been given a run especially ahead of White. Has played more football in the past two months and has been putting in some consistent performances.

He along with Lucas & Bootsma should get a running the next few games.

Today Ratts said that O'Keefe isn't far away.

Not Bootsma. too thin for AFL... if we're still a shot at the finals (distant shot) we need to be playing our best 22 and Bootsma is definitely not in that right now. Bulk him up in the summer and he might be good for a run next year.

Birdtown, he said it in an extended interview on the AFL website with Leigh Matthews and Damien Barrett. It's called Access All Areas or something like that.

Crane6 on BF says Bell is doubtful due to soreness. If he doesn't play, does Ellard come in?

Would really, really, really love to win this game.

Ellard is playing VFL (mentioned in the northern blues twitter feed)

Bell is fine guys.

This afternoon I saw him bench pressing cars at Woolworths carpark, and straight afterwards he was tackling moving busses.

The council may need more busses, though. He went through a few.

Might have been said before, but gee I have to look twice at Bell. Just his appearance takes me back 10-15 years. Like the cut of his jib when plays - hope he keeps going - a bit of mongrel against Swans always necessary. Surprised we dropped Duigan as well.

So Bell will be a gun because he "looks" like someone, but Davies is a waste of time because
he lacks composure and makes silly errors, (and this after 14 games).

Some players need time to gain confidence and feel part of the team. Give them the time
and support they need and you just might end up with a very good player. It seems to me
that our opponents tomorrow have proven this repeatedly.

Good job, though could only find this edition on the Bris Lions web-site, last weeks still on AFL's site. Gee, Barrett is a flower.
Looks positive for ROK, should be lining up soon by the sounds of it.
Q. will be at whose expense with #1, 5 & 12 also to come back in. and where they'll trial him?

I hope ROK plays but it will all depend upon what happens tomorrow.

If he gets a run it has to be on a HBF but I ge a feeling it would be on a wing. He's a big body, hard at it and a great left foot kick but IMO doesn't win enough ball to be a mid.

Be great to see Laidler, Watson, OKeefe using their left foots coming out of defence in the future!

Not far away, but given games played this year makes me wonder a bit how ROK was "further away" than White

Yes, quite the line-up of lefties down back if it ever eventuates, would like to see it too. He played down back for the game against WCE last year so imagine he'll play down there again or on the wing as you say (would have been ideal in place of Simmo). Patience on the wait now.

Re: White. Favoured for his versatilty and with his A game vs SYD last year, was always going to be in the mix this week. Ratt's has hopes of a swingman here by his comments in the past.

Dont think I mentioned Davies? So assuming this was just frustration at others.

All for time on ground - I was pushing for Watson and constantly saying he needed time - and guess what he played some great footy, despite the detractors. And you know what - he still probably 3 yrs away

Russell 2010 is a great example. It all depends on the person, some kids will come in ready to play AFL. Some will take some time but will be better in the long run (Yarran V Rich). Russell took some time but was almost All Aus in 2010.

The recruiting staff have obviously seen lots in Davies and have a spot for him. If he has a spot on the ground for our next premiership then carry on.
