We'd love him if he was ours.

Not like Sticks, he's not one of ours ....... Oh

Collingwood fans don't love McGuire because he's one of them. They love him because he does a great job as president... Taking Collinwood from a basket case to a powerhouse, and winning a flag along the way.

Just like Sticks.... Oh

Carlton people don't love Sticks unconditionally , in fact many believe he has shortcomings.

But we resist the temptation of bagging him mercessly and the "grass is always greener" view of opposition clubs. Eddie envy is not something we all suffer from.

Oh and Sticks delivered 2 flags.

and Stephen OReilly

and been part of 3 wooden spoons

and since he has held official positions in admin..... we have been the the most unsuccesful club and have slipped down the slippery slope to being average......

Youd have to think though... that when he he came to the footy club ... it was in better shape than it is now with him on the helm...

Which would be relevant if he could still play CHF.

But he's President now, and in the context of the debate over his suitability... Or his performance vs other presidents... past playing days don't matter.

Which you know, of course.

Don't envy what Collingwood has achieved? That's funny, because the powerbrokers at our club sure as hell do.

Yawn, Synbads back.

Collo, Elliot and Smorgon.

All apparently competent businessman and yet the club is in better shape now than these three left it.

And apparently Matheisons not happy but he cant get things changed and he has a nephew in there Fahour the messiah but doesn't think he should have to Be elected and even if he does it's no good because the board is loaded against him.

Your arguments get a bit tiresome Synners, you have no answers, just complaints.

Cimm you crack me up. lol

Do you even know any of these people ?
spoken to them?
Asked them questions?

Had any philsophical discussions about footy with them?

Im tiresome???.... lol.. listen to your self....

Sticks is the best president...!!!!....

Even if you asked Sticks this question directly ... he would turn red.

Sticks are you there because youre the most competent president ???
What are your presidential strengths Sticks.. that oone else can top???

The answer my friend ... is the CFC believes the president is a mere figurehead.
Sticks is the Queen.

Thats what many of these people believe... that if you have the right CEO it doesnt matter about the President/Queen/Sticks.
The problem is if the CEO isnt flash... and the president needs to sort things out and bring direction to the club... and he cant!!

Mathieson isnt happy with Sticks..but he isnt going to cause a spill.

Whats Sticks' history in admin??... its a ginat balls up!!!!

Sticks' and the CFC would be [REDACTED] without Pratt Mathieson money.....same Sticks who has been at the club in official positions for the last 15 years..

The constitution has been altered for Sticks.... tampered with to allow him to stay on this long.
He is a political tool/fool...

If you canot see a problem with this you would also believe the human body doesnt need a colon

I think we understand how most people rate Sticks, both sides of the argument. Is it helping to repeat it over and over?

This discussion is bordering on getting too personal with yawns and talk of who is tiresome. If thats how you feel its probably best to take a break from the discussion.

If you find you cant do that, at least debate the discussion.

Thats what i think too Brad...
I brought up the point this time.. that some people at Carlton dont believe prez is important.. and is a figurehead only.... and so gave the example of Sticks is like the Queen...... and thats why hes there......
Cimm just gets potty...
So stay on top of it...

Maybe,, but you must admit... the constitution has been tampered with pretty regularly lately... and its not for the good of the footy club but rather to shore up the people on the board... making it more difficult for change.
Which is rather perplexing... given we are hardly a club thats flying and theyre hell bent in keeping that status quo

You obviously support such things....???

If these people are so outraged, so disgruntled and have so much influence they'd get the results they want.

Obviously the problems are not as bad as you make out otherwise SOMETHING WOULD BE DONE.

It's like JohnM's mysterious "powerbrokers", they may not be 100% happy, hell they may be downright disappointed but it won't be all of them and even those that have misgivings have done nothing.

No.

That's the board, the whole board, the one Matheison (neph) belongs too. What was his role.? What of the other 11 members, where do they stand?, or do only a select few rush from the board meeting to keep you briefed as to the latest travesties thrust upon the cowering malnourished waifs who make up the balance of the board members.?

You target Sticks, was this his initiative? I would not have thought a guy of his limited mental capacity (according to you) would be incapable of dreaming up this plan.

Ah of course, he's an Elliott puppet.

Cimm.. of course the guy with limited mental capacity doesnt orchestrate this.
He is a tool/ fool for others.
Dont forget many on the board think a CEO has the answers and the prez is there as a firurehead.
Its something people from the board had told me years ago....

The problem is when theyre both underperformers... like they are.. and the club is treading water and relying on benefactors.

Sticks likes his role af "reluctant president".. he has enjoyed it for four years..... and has provided little more than cover for other underperformers..
Together with Sticks and TWELVE others they are assured... just the club isnt...

If only they would spend as much time on finding new ways the club can go forward as they do in shoring themselves up.. we might go forward....

But Alas!!!

So if we have such an incompetent president and board, how do we, as supporters, go about making a change to ensure that we can get people that are best for the club in?

How can we force the board and president to have to go through re-election?? What can we do so that we don't become a mediocre club that's treading water?
