Thornton would seem to be insurance against Waite seizing up between now and Sunday 3.15pm.

My bench would be: Bell, McLean, Collins and sub: Lucas.

That being said, there is no pace on that bench.

Disappointed Walker and Robinson haven't come up, but happy we're not rushing them in and giving them time to be ripe and ready next week for the Lions game...warm up for the return of Judd vs Bumbers.

I'm sure the MC are selecting a team that can win. Hence they are all strong and fit to compete against the hard at it, well drilled Swans team...who haven't lost a game for a while.... :sly:

Not a big fan of Collins....moves well...bit of a show pony when in open space imo...hopefully kicks a few

Not a big fan of Lucas atm. Whilst his pace is fantastic, the other parts of his game need improvement.

Feel Ellard would go great against the Swans, but I guess we have McLean to do the in and under stuff, but not as well as Ellard would imo.

Geez the Swans look taller and bigger on paper...and we know they play a great team game....but you never know.

Yeah but don't let that get in the way of a mad rush to claim You Heard It Here First.

I would have preferred to see Watson in the squad but I guess the club is going to have to make a decision either way on White soon, so it's fair enough to give him an opportunity. He played well in the VFL last week.

Assuming there's no late changes, you'd think the three to miss out will be T-Bird (unlucky, IMO), Ellard and Lucas.

Ah ... sitting in Bay 17 as a young boy singing "Waltzing McCosker" ... there's a memory.

Assuming he's medically good, (and I really don't believe he'd be playing otherwise), then
Simmo should be top shape. I wouldn't have thought his injury would've stopped him from
running or doing weights or whatever.

Not any people maintain a weight while eating through a straw though BK.

Would have liked to see Watson in. Good match up for LRT or resting ruckmen.

Let's see if white or mcciness can do the job in the air and use their run to advantage.

Surprised Watson not recalled as well but happy with the Waite/Casboult combination forward of the centre.
Lets hope Gibbs is allowed to run through the middle as well - maybe run with Kennedy? - and go head to head!!!!

Have you lost your memory

2011 season contested marks per game.

Jarrad Waite - 2.3
Setanta O'hAilpin - 1.9
Michael Jamison - 1.4
Shaun Hampson - 1.2
Bret Thornton - 1.1
Mark Austin - 1.0
Matthew Kreuzer - 1.0
Nick Duigan - 1.0
Lachlan Henderson - 0.8
Andrew Walker - 0.7

Waite's last game last year was on July 10.

You will find that Setanta's Average was closer to 3 per game if you take into account the clutch last few games of the year and the finals.

And yes Waite's last game last year was in July and his last game this year was back in May.

Teams have been out for 4 hours. Have we our weekly Jamo and Kreuzer possibly late outs yet?

If not, I'm rolling with it....
