Well Fahour should if he cared enough. That's the problem, no-one seems to care enough....

The CEO of Australia Post isnt going to start a blood bath splashed over the front pages of every paper in the country.. by starting an EGM.

But if they threw the board up for election .... im pretty sure he would make a pretty big splash in an election.
Sticks will give us one of his Elliott EGM speeches...kind of were Carlton and @#$%&! the rest...

But the media focus would definitely be on fahour.. whatever some people think of him.. hes not small fry... and he would kick heads... and mediocrity wouldnt be tolerated....

It would give the club a shake up thats for sure....

Sticks is vanilla and out of his depth....

This is not 1980 something.....he just got rid of his mullet recently....
His business world stature is non existent..
And he isnt the smartest guy going around.

Just doesnt bode well for the club.

It just staggers me how Sticks thinks he is a good prez for the Carlton Footy club...

so we have a couple of different groups.

The Mathieson Trainer group... the Sticks group and supposedly the Fahour group.

We have had a few people make their way onto the board via invitation ... that happens when its unanimous.

Usually its money driven.
Pratts and friends.
Mathieson and friend.
Fahour has been left out of the party.. and yet if anyone can make things rattle and hum its him....

So let me get this straight... Sticks is the reluctant president.. and he will step down if someone more capable comes along.. but Fahour cant get onto the board??...

Sticks isnt capable of licking Fahour's Lloyd's shoes...when it comes to top end business.

So if they asking him to come in via an election unlike alot of others.. and he lays down the challenge to open the board up to an election process why is it ok as far as youre concerned that that should be correct???

Im pretty sure Fahour can foster up a pretty good ticket if he wanted to....

So basically you don't think it's fair that Fahour should have to be elected because the process was corrupted to allow others on the board via direct appointment.

It may not be fair that others have been directly appointed ( a point I agree with) but if it's the only way to get on and he want's it bad enough he should organise a ticket and challenge.

FFS Synbad, nothing is going to happen NOW. How about we all calm down NOW, and see what goes down at season's end ?
We are all well aware of your thoughts, but lets be patient huh ? 5 weeks won't kill you.

Cimm the board has been shoring itself up for years.
Picking and choosing ... and bonding in their combined stupidity....

They have been growiing the size steadily and thus anyone coming in needs SEVEN to not be stonewalled.
they have been detouring elections.. Trainer was told not to go to election last year... and he will be invited on this year....
Peoples membership voting rights have been REVOKED....!!!

And sticks is reluctant president...

joke!!!

All the more reason for an EGM if it's that bad. If it's done quickly it's forgotten in the blink of an eye.

It's amazing how loyalties change once board members change, that's politics.

Sticks should take a leaf out of Kevin Rose's book.

When Rose was president of Collingwood, and recognised that McGuire was most likely a better option than himself... he selflessly paved the way for Ed to go to an election with his support. No factions. No fighting. He recommended to the members that McGuire was the man to take the club forward, the members voted, and the rest is history.

"Reluctant President" my arse.

There should be no need for a guy like Fahour to have to tear down Kernahan in order to be voted in as president. No reason at all.

Anymody coming in alone would get railroaded by the boys.
Fahour's idea has merit.

Mayybe he can organise an alternative ticket .
As things stand only four can come and get stonewalled by a clique of board members...

Why would he do that???

I agree, this is a problem and shouldn't be a barrier to getting suitably qualified people to work for the club.

But don't divisions already exist on the board? Sticks alluded to this problem on Open Mike (or was it EMT?) and he listed it as the primary reason the board sits at 12 people. I can't remember his exact words but it was something like "the board has so many members because factions wanted to sure up their positions and it's difficult to get rid of them " .

That sh1ts me to tears.

Sorry but blind Freddy can see why Fahour doesnt get invited on to the board

You can foe him if you don't want to read what he has to say. Or you could try ignoring it. You're not obligated to read or reply to him.

Either way, this thread isn't about Synbad so lets move on please and thats a general reminder to keep all comments on topic.

Please pm me if you need any clarification on this.

And for the all the criticism 'Fat Ed' gets, its almost a completly different club to the one he took over.

Collingwood fans don't love McGuire because he's one of them. They love him because he does a great job as president... Taking Collinwood from a basket case to a powerhouse, and winning a flag along the way.

Just like Sticks.... Oh
