I'd be disappointed if Brock wasn't given another contract. He and Robboand Bell offer some inside strength that we need.
Brock must be the player umpires bate most. Ive never seen a player get somany dubious decisions paid against him as he has in the past 5 weeks

Couldn't agree more , they hate him.

Exactly, thought it was only me that thought this...

Maybe nytdog is an umpire

We have rediscovered the CARLTON GRIT......................not the answer to all our problems but without it you will never get anywhere.
Was against getting Brock coz i thought his best was long gone.He has also rediscovered that form when he was carving it up with the Dees.Well done Brock for your perseverance.A lesser light would have given it away long ago.Superb exhibition of an old style centreman's game last night.Brocks performance was only bettered by Murphy who for mine was BOG.Showing great leadership that i was doubtfull he posessed.Just continually put his hand up at the right time.Jammo has also rediscovered his past form.Fabulous effort against a topliner in Jack. The other bloke who also rediscovered his form of last year was Ed Curnow.Excellent game Ed.Jeffy has also rediscovered his most potent quality being his sharpness.
Could mention a lot more but just special mentions to our new boys Dale,Casboult and Tommy.Reckon there inclusions have reinvigorated the whole Club like a breath of fresh air through the place.Reckon Levi has straightened us up and is a MUST inclusion.Sooner or later he is gonna clunk 'em and send panick into the opposition.I know we go on about big fellas being great below there knees and ground work etc etc,but remember the truly great big men HURT YOU IN THE AIR.There is nothing in footy so exhilirating as a big bloke taking a grab in the square.Nothing...............and of course Tommy has brought back memories of our old sides who were TOUGH.Tommy is the most exciting prospect i have seen for a long, long time,so congrats WH,Cazz, and all the recruiting gang.A brilliant pickup.

Pros:

Murphy and McLean.
Kreuzer.
Betts.
Jamo and Joseph.
Armfield. He's a real MCG specialist.
Levi didn't do much, but I still think we looked a lot better having a tall target we could kick to.
Didn't do much, but loved Yarran's efforts deep in defence to rebound the ball, which led to our last goal.
Loved Thornton's goal assist to Garlett.
Bell again showed some good signs.
Superior goalkicking probably won us the game.
Hard working honesty. Pity we weren't prepared to show that earlier in the year.
Richmond must be 'spooked' by us (like we are with Hawthorn). No way we should have won this game.

Cons:

Commentary was awful.
Carrots had an awful first quarter, even though he came back after that.
Duigan struggled again.

PROS
What a difference a goal makes
Team showed real spirit that has been missing too often
Those tigers aren't bad at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory
Bell might just be that inside mid we are after
Levi actually looks like he knows how to take an overhead mark - persevere with him
Gutsy wrk by 2e late after soft free to Cotchin
Eddie B is having a great year
McLean has shown real resilience which might be bad news for Ellard

CONS
I thought the club said Dale wouldn't be sub? Give him a full game
Different game but how come Dempsey didn't cop the flack Bower did for dropping his head v Hawks Friday

Why?

KB breaks out the vaudville act, pumping up his tigers and getting into carlton, for the express purpose of goading people into listening to him. The last thing any of us should want to do is actually reward his schtick by responding.

wouldn't mind setting a turd on fire and leaving it outside BT's front door though.

PRO:
The players playing like they give a shit.

CON:
But most likely too late to save the season.

PRO:
We're being forced into trying a few things (new players, positional changes) and it's proving that there's something there for whoever is coaching next year to work with.

Garlett winning clearances.

Bell again.

McLean being given a decent go and making something of it.

Two weeks rest for Judd... two wins. Maybe this shows us that we could potentially extend his career by not flogging him to death every week. Relying on 'the champ' every week is unhealthy for both Judd and the team.

CON:
It was only richmond.

PRO:
Richmond is so fragile now, we can say 'it was only richmond'. Hopefully in a few weeks we'll be able to say 'it was only Essendon*'.

Funny how we go in about us not being strong enough, Tigers fans feel the same about their side and are annoyed that we have someone with bulk and grunt like Tom Bell.

You imagine we will play out the rest of the season now, has bulk and a bit of grunt about him which we have desperately been lacking.

Levi needs to continue to get games, his kicking is a worry though.

You don't have to listen to the show, just send him an email full of encouragement. I know I did :donk: :donk:

He's such a smug character you just have to give him a gentle reminder every now and again how heartbreaking it must be year after year after year etc, etc.

WH kept sneaking up to see Tom. I'm told that 1 time another AFL recruiter was there but otherwise not much interest as far as we know.

Stringer is a good size. Moves well too and hits them hard. He and Robbo will make our midfield a lot tougher going forward.

Yeah, good point. I noted that. I think some of the new guys seemed unfamiliar with where they were supposed to go in the zone and as a result we left some gaping holes at times.

Something to work on.

Pros.
Brock. Love his work rate and attitude. He's the type of bloke you'd love playing footy with.
Armys concentration.
Levi and Tom Bell. Its amazing what a difference young blood can make when given an opportunity.
Kruezer.
Jamo. He's playing sore but he still gives his all.
Eddie. He's added consistency to his bag of tricks. Vital to our structure.
Tuoheys courage.
Curnow, Murphy and most of the team.
Carrots after quarter time. His shut down work is crucial.
Yes it was only Richmond but looking at the positives, it was Richmond!

Cons.
Carrots before quarter time. Fumbled, tried to do too much and ignored options when they presented.
Yaz. Yes he was excellent in the last 5 minutes but was insipid before that. Good AFL players give effort all the time, not just when they feel like it.
The commentary. 2/3 of the commentary team was made up of ex Richmond players. What else were we going to get but biased nonsense.
Defending kick ins. Again! 3 of their goals were a result of kick ins. Nowhere near good enough.
