O'Keefe is a rookie though. We only just re rookied him so we can keep him on that list?

Kerr not getting a run for 3 years is ridiculous player management

Agree with this. What would be the point of drafting someone and keeping him on the list for three years only to never give him a chance? The "earn your spot" mantra sometimes has to give way to practicality. Though I guess there are still six weeks after this for him to be given a chance.

McLean has been good since coming back into the team. Averaging 25 possessions a game over the last eight games. I doubt he's going anywhere.

McCarthy is a developing KPP. KPP take a bit longer. Surely worth keeping.

Yeah. I could make a defence for any of them except for the 3 I originally named. However, it seems we will be delisting more than the 3 so there would be others in trouble.

Curnow, Touhy, Casboult and O'Keeffe are all rookies. I'd say we definitely want to keep the first 3. That's 3 delistings already to accomodate them. Say we want 4 draft picks that's 7 names that need to go from the current primary list. Not so well organised I think.

Bower, Russell, Kerr, Ellard and White would be the first 5 on my list. Still need to find a couple more.

Of course if we can get a trade for one or two of them that makes things a bit easier.

I'd keep RoK, just think he has the tools to make it.

Got your point.

I agree about the first 3, and with the lot of them I think we can re rookie them. Okeefe 3rd time draftee????? Dunno

Tuohy and Casboult will be promoted imo.

Russell Bower Kerr McLean were the early obvious ommissions, but have to say Brock has been doing his case for retention wonders.

Curnow, Collins, possibly McCarthy and Mitchell may be caste out...sounds controversial but if the doctors suggest Mitchell's shoulders are not worth persisting with...just saying.

I reckon 2 upgrades, maybe 2 re rookied, and 3 selections minimum, unless we trade for a few better draft picks.

I'm likely wrong, and in my defence I'm nearly delirious with the flu, but I just went by the website when looking at our list. Strange.

You can add Waite to that list as well.

I'd be quite happy to keep him as well. I think the only way to do it (happy to be corrected) is to promote him to primary list as he will have had 2 years as a rookie. Touhy, Curnow and Casboult all in the same position and you'd have to say all more likely to survive than RoK.

I think that as of next year we have at least 2 veterans, Waite and Simpson (and Thornton who i think may get delisted) . I am pretty sure that veterans can be listed outside your list so freeing up 2 spots and having less rookies. This would mean that 2 rookie upgrades can simply take their places on the list as we have 2 extra senior players. (40 senior and 4 rookies instead of 38 senior and 6 rookies).
The obvious ones to go are Kerr, Russell (free agent), Bower. Others are Thornton, Davies, White. Not sure of their contract situations though, Ellard may want to be traded as may Lucas. Duigan is an interesting one, has been struggling lately and as yet not re-signed. I would give Watson, Mitchell and McCarthy new contracts. Scotland may retire but has been playing good footy and i think i read somewhere that is keen to play on.
Interesting times ahead.

Forgot about the veteran's list. That makes it a bit easier. How long is it since we had a player eligible for veteran's list? Must be at least 5 years.

Got a lot of decisions to make.

Good luck Andy McKay, I wouldn't want that job.

What ever happens we have to organize ourselves to make sure we are able to make more than 3 selections in the National Draft - and in particular be able to pick an 18 year old in the 2nd round.
