Paul Williams

Ruckman Rob Warnock was available for selection after serving his one-match suspension incurred at VFL level, but with wet conditions forecast, Williams said the Blues were wary of going into the match too tall

Might explain the Watson out as well

Lets hope there weather forecasters are not the same ones used by the Greens and ALP

How did training go today?

Any particular reason Kreuzer left the track early?

:screwy: And I thought he got suspended for hitting someone. How many points does playing crap give you?

Depends if it was intentional or reckless

just re read my post. I'm comfortable with the way it's been interpreted

It's a novel idea which has great merit.
That would make for some interesting selection debate on here.
Gibbs would have SO much time off

The great thing about all this is that it makes for really interesting viewing.

We won't get smashed, we'll possibly even win but regardless, we get to see the continuing improvement in the depth of our list through giving players a go on their merits.

I'd love to say Lucas is only being played to improve his currency but when I think of it realistically, I'd doubt it. At some stage he needs to be played into genuine seniors form and now is the best time.

Um... naming players to play games of senior football doesn't automatically mean we are improving our depth. That comes from getting the recruiting right and having players perform to the required level.

So you don't think Collins has improved with a few games under his belt? Great to see that Tom Bell fella get a game and actually contribute. Levi who?

I see where you are coming from and agree wholeheartedly but lets not allow grudges against who we haven't picked etc blind us from the reality that getting games into these guys opens up options for the future.

But what would I know right?

Someone may have seen him do a very very light training session today. It's his usual MO the day before a game so not a big indicator if he isn't playing.

In the news already Flip. In doubt along with Kreuzer and Jamo.

Is there a week where we don't have a "Jamo and Kreuzer possible late outs" rumour?

I don't know why they keep persisting with Kreuzer, wrap him and get him ready for 2013. It seems nearly every second week for the last 3 years I've heard that Jamo could be a late withdrawal.

I think it'll be a really tough game, and will most likely come down to who wants it more. I think we'll struggle to win just due to inexperience. If we lose any of those 3 before the game it's tough to see us winning.

Ellard, Duigan and Russell emergencies. So no ruckman?

Surprised Murph hasn't been wearing a long-sleeved or 3/4 guernsey with padding on the shoulder built in for the first few weeks, similar to the padding Carrots had on his shoulderblade...would give him more confidence to go in hard you'd think.

Surely Kreuzer will play. If there was any doubt either Watto or Warnock would have to be an emergency.

Just pay a fine and bring Warnock in.

How's the weather looking for tonight?
Will it be wet and windy as predicted last Thursday?

If so I understand why McInnes and TBird are our CHB and CHF. I like it for these conditions and this opponent.
No roof. Surface not rock hard. Horses for courses. Need a fleet of smaller types who are nimble and fast.

I still believe we have more class than them, and in these conditions class rises to the top.
That's what was supposed to happen against Port in the wet.

Must go in hard. This game will tell me if the players care enough about:
* their performance
* their career
* their coach
* their club

Go Blues...should win by 20

Comes down to how bad do our players want to play finals. We need to make these games wins.
Strangely enough, team picked tonight is good enough to win on paper.
Desire and application is another element however.

If Murphy, Jamo and Kreuzer don't play we will get smashed by 8 goals. Maybe more.

The fact Murphy is even in doubt, doesn't bode well for him to have an influence on a cold wet night at the G
