He has been great though and I think it will show we will miss his kicking.

What kind of player is a Watto matchup???

Well i am struggling to see who you can put Watson on and have confidence ....
He has been averaging pretty low with numbers... and he likes to play outside of the red zone bubble....

Still not sure what kind of a position suits him and i would nt put money on him once he is isolated by the opposition.

Not even close. Doesn't have the work rate or ball winning ability.

Another wasted "speculative pick" by Wayne Hughes. Kid wasnt on the radar of one other club and odds were he wasnt going to be selected as rookie either.

Just more wasted years on our list.

I really hope the new coach brings in a gun new recruiter.

With only one real KPF Reiwoldt in the team - they seem to be worried about the speed of Richmonds forwards- and Jack is a fairly quick and nimble full forward too.

Looks like our selections have the future in mind again this week. Interesting considering Ratten's situation. Watson probably a bit stiff but as others have mentioned I don't see a match up for him. Hopefully O'Keefe gets a run before the year is out.

Looks fair to me.

Certainly surprised by the selections...all of them but that's part of the MC's plan.
I'm backing the week did Kreuzer wonders and if he gives another Pies performance... :gift:

Team looks really balanced, fast and strong.
I think we'll be stronger than Richmond.
Weird to think that with all the outs Carlton has.

Dale and Collins to surprise forward?
Davies to release TBird forward when Casboult rucks?
WE loook like we can move the ball quickly, and Casboult is a bonafide big target; just not Lockett yet.

Could win this.
So its going to be wet and cold at the G at night.
That doesn't sound like conditions for big men. No need for Warnock maybe.
Our forwardline is mobile and dangerous. Goal savvy.
We should outscore them. Our mids to get on top of theirs. Our class across all lines will be better in the conditions.

I'm probably dreamin'. We're playing for finals aren't we?

Carlton by 20 points

I like Davies. Tassie boy. Attacks it. Good build for a footballer. He is still a novice in terms of games played and has plenty to learn but he has the frame and the skill base to work with. We have to look at him again before the end of the ear. No time like the present.
Lucas is Lucas and we have to play him or get rid of him.
Touhy is in the best 22 so if fit, plays.
Kreuzer has a cloud over him apparently. If he is injured and playing for no real reason other than to play him, I'd be very surprised. Maybe he just gets sore after games? Maybe it's all a furphy. Anyway, he's in and is better built to tackle Maric, who is no world beater but likes the on-body stuff, which Warnock isn't so good at.
Looking forward to seeing if Casboult can make an impact as a key forward. The feeling seems to be that that's his go. Keep him in even when Waite gets back.

I am sure this is a 'horses for courses' team. Watson has done nothing wrong in his stint but as some have pointed out, has no matchup with Vickery out. If it's a spinning wicket, play spinners and seamers. If it's a greentop, play quicks. The good AFL teams are on to this. Richmond has a good midfield and a bevy of runners. If it is going to be wet, smaller, hard at it players will get the footy. Watson? Npt needed this week.
I thought Duigan was a bit stiff but I only see it on TV and don't get the big picture. Russell and Bower must have had it now. I actually thought Russell went OK in the front half last week.

We are screaming for them to play kids. They picked Davies and Lucas. People still complain. We maintained the three from last week plus McInness from the weeks before. Collins is still in. I think we are playing the kids. If we win,a (and we can) it's a bonus.

I think we will see White and maybe Bootsma again later in the year but IF we keep winning with these inexperienced players and still make the eight and IF we have close to our best 22 available, we might win two finals and finish top 4. Then what would people say?

I'd say it's a miracle, personally but the run home isn't as hard as Geelong's for example. Sydney will be the big test and StK in the last round.

If we win this week, I'll be a bit more optimistic. We get GC, which we should win and which gives us another couple of weeks for the walking wounded to recover form and health, and then it starts again. Every week is a final. And every week we win without Judd is a bonus for us and for him. No Brownlow votes for him for four weeks but he will feel he has a lot to prove when he gets back and I'm tipping he'll go BOG in every game he plays for the rest of the year to make up for letting the boys down.

This is a big game against the hated Richmond. Go Blues. I'm sensing a narrow win. The Tiges have forgotten how to win the close ones.

I like it that Bell has been given another go. I like the look of that kid, gave one very nice hit last week, scored a goal and, on principle, any 95Kg inside midfielders that can run a 15+ beep test should almost be getting a game on principle. The bloke reminded me of Kouta!!

Can we get Joseph to smash Nahas and take him out of the game completely, then when he does that do the same to Grigg. We can spare him when he gets suspended r 12 months yeh?

WTF is this?

In your eagerness to shitcan everything possible about the club admin, the coaching staff, the structure, the recruiting and the playing group have you now invented something by which you make your assessment of a young player still finding his feet?

A clear definition would help us less-enlightened TCers gain a foothold in the ever-evolving uphill quest for knowledge in the game that surrounds the game that is AFL football.

In the modern defensive game, it is getting harder and harder to isolate anybody. You as a fan of structure would appreciate that more than most. It can and does happen though. Had you been watching him develop over the past couple of months instead of planning your next negative post, you may have seen him gain in confidence, win several contested situations, use his body better, take a few pack marks and get a lot of good clearances out of defence.

Just what are your expectations of a kid in his first real season of footy? Apart from liking to play inside the red zone bubble, that is.

I like the side.

Don't care if we win or lose

but its good to see Bell, Casboult and Dale get another crack.

People hate Davies - I like him so you can all go get [REDACTED] - he's played, what 15 games?

McInnes was excellent forward last week. Might not play there, but its letting him know we just might if we have to again.

Good for Lucas.

Watson has done well, so what is the problem?

I'm not happy with Rats but this side seems fine to me.

Kruise this week, rests and Warnock next week.

I mean really, the club is damned and damned isn't it.

How many did Casboult play?

It isn't just that. There are 6 weeks left and somebody has to be delisted if we are going to go through the place with a broom. That means, among other things, that some players have to have their shot. It may be this. or it may be that someone decided he is ready anyway.

..the Krooz over Knockers selection has me confused.. ..this is not simply a case of Krooz having a week off to rest.. ..his knee flared up 'bigtime' after the roo's game, and he was meant to be out for a bit [more than 1 week].. ..now, he's being secretly tested behind closed doors.. ..this doesn't sound like a player that just needed a rest, he's obviously not fit and raring to go if there's private testing sessions.. ..he's not sharing ruck duties, he'll be carrying as much of the ruck load as possible.. ..ridiculous..

..Watto has been coming along, i like the kid, could just be his turn/time to go a bit easier in the ressies..
