100% correct, pity he doesn't have 1% of the strength that Fraser Brown has/had.

Have no probs with how SOS answered and think people are chasing shadows.

On the father/son - it wasn't about Carlton it was about a dad really not wanting his boys to be under high expectations and not being able to live up to it.
I think some on here have seen a different interview.

Some chose to maintain silence, some chose to tell the truth.

Basically the club cheated, sure we probably weren't alone but that doesn't excuse it.

Was the clubs punishment more over the top because of Omertà and Brown, than Braddles and SOS's testimony? I would think that the entrenched mafia like culture would tend the slap to be harder than if contrition was shown. But that's just my opinion.

Does anyone believe that SOS only played for the money? I am sure it was a factor but not the only one.

As for his kids not playing for the Blues, may be more about undue pressure playing for Blues, though club culture probably contributes.

Did SOS get on with Gleeson and McKay? Doesn't seem like he had much time for Sticks.

Up until last season I used to see SOS and his kids regularly attending Blues games (with the kids all decked out in navy blue ).

But watching this interview he did sound very bitter indeed. Obviously no love lost between him and Big Jack. Doesn't sound like he has much time for Sticks either....

ive seen him, the Mrs, and all 3 boys at at least 4 or 5 games this year.............

Am I the only one who was bitterly disappointed with the tone and subject matter of this interview? Half an hour one on one with one of the champions of our club and Mike Sheehan chooses to focus on every negative possible. I know he's going for "hard news" but surely there were more highs and lows!

- Rather than talking about the excitement of winning the grand final in 1987 he instead focuses on 1986
- Instead of looking at his 1995 finals series (1 goal conceded against White, Carey and Ablett), he focuses on when Lockett kicked 10.7
- No mention of the 10 goals versus fitzroy at optus oval

I could go on ...

Any mention that he went on the board but dropped off after just one year?

That rumour was disproven years ago.

I must have missed that

Yeah not one of Mike's best, and SOS isn't that interesting an interview subject.

Answers questions like Roos and Lyon. Boring, vanilla answers that say nothing... at the end of the day...we've moved on...it's not about me...

Actually a bit like the Pagan interview.

Mike should have known that SOS wouldn't talk about the cap stuff and just covered it off. A very negative interview with one of the game's legends.

But according to you SB, all indigenous boys are lazy - particularly in packs. Is that the general idea?
If so, following that line of argument, maybe Moshe's theory makes sense - maybe the fact that Sticks is secretly indigenous is affecting his performance as president.. I don't think Moshe's comment is stalking, more like expanding on your theories.

Maybe Ratts was secretly employed as a public school teacher or ambulance driver somewhere in his past, which might explain any inadequacies ?

Although it is a bit off topic.
Maybe we should start a thread for: "Ideas by Andrew Bolt that could really help CFC move forward"

You read it wrong Hawkeye.

He doesn't want his kids to have to live with the dad and grandad comparison and expectation. It wouldn't be fair on them, but they can do whatever they like.

He preferred that they didn't play footy for anyone for the above reason, not footy with Carlton.

He stated that what you read in the media was wrong!!
That's where the rumours started.

He said he's only ever had one argument at Carlton ...and that wasn't Sticks.

He did come back to serve Carlton.

Some of the crap I've just read in this thread...talk about Chinese whispers...I'm talking about those who saw the article and gave their interpretation of the statemements and added abit of sizzle.

SOS did as he was requested to do so. FACT
Collins thought the AFL what be more lenient on the club with the truth. FACT
Carlton and Collins got done like a dinner with the unprecedented penalties from the AFL. FACT
SOS has served at Carlton since the penalties. FACT
Ther Silvagnis are a Carlton family. FACT.

There is angst between some people and Silvagni.

I happen to know one of his uncles.

Silvagni came clean because of a few reasons.
It was meant to have been the AFL would go easier on us with a deal between Collo and Demetriou... the commision overuled and [REDACTED] us harder anyway/
Silvagni was never paid monies owed.
Silvagni did the right thing as he was still looking for a career in footy.... Dog Brown had one outside of footy.
