Can foresee a lot of booing at the Essendon* game.

Them booing Judd for his wing work.
Us booing Lonergan for bringing the game into disrepute with his crude tackle on Carrazzo.
Us booing Hurley for beating up a hard working family man and refusing to pay his taxi fare.

Lots and lots of noise.

Bragging rights and 4 points don't really matter in the big scheme of things either.

I think the club is missing a significant marketing opportunity out of this.

Not true. I really want to beat Essendon*. Really badly. And St Kilda, the rest not so much.

The penalty was already approved by the AFL commission and the media. Last night was just all an act to make the public feel that actually did something.

They might not have known the charge ... but they knew the act was not savoury and nothing to do with footy.

Dont do the undisciplined things and youre not in that situation

Ratts used to tak about "Judd and Co"

Now he has to open his mind to realise its just" co"... and the world doesnt revolve around "The champ".. now if only he understood tht earlier.. he might be a better coach today

Bit late here on the reply but I agree totally. Every time Ratts would say something along the lines of 'Judd and all those other guys' I used to cringe.

Time for a new coach and captain. We are far more than just Judd.

Its so easy to kill a side that relies on one guy.
Even the guys on the same side are psychologically addicted to revolving around him.

They all have to do their bit.... check out the swans

They didnt rely on Goodes.

Totally agree with these sentiments, unless losing to St Kilda would mean the Scum would miss the finals. I could cop that.

Yeah for sure. Club wouldn't though base the appeal decision on the fact that we want to @#$%&! up Essendon*....as sweet as that may be.

I can see all sides.

The 'who gives a stuff the season is shot anyway, so lets stand up for ourselves' is a fair enough attitude that would come from a disgruntled fan that is more interested in Rnd 1 2013 than anything that happens in the next seven weeks of which there are many of us.

The club though - rightly or wrongly - would still be looking at it as we've got more to lose than gain in 2012 by appealing. We'll concede Sydney would be tough anyway, but think we can get over WB, Richmond, Brisbane without him. Get him back for Essendon*, GC, St Kilda with a few others and 13-9 is still our goal....

...as unrealistic that such a scenario is.

Appeal the decision? We'd lose even more respect if we did. It was an appalling act by Judd, if a North player had committed the same deed on one of our own we'd all be screaming about how light the sentence was. He's got his fair whack, move on.

I thought Anderson was piss weak. Shades of Demetriou a few weeks ago getting all huffy and implying he might sue for libel or defamation because someone had something negative to say about him.

That's the only reason that Connors backed down, the implied threat from Anderson about civil litigation.

Anderson and the Greek are high profile public figures who should be men enough and thick skinned enough to take a bit of criticism and either (I) clarify and explain their position (2) have a go back or (3) be man enough to take the criticism on the chin without threatening to run off to the lawyers.

Boo hoo Adrian you big sook

What's the definition of tragedy?

When a bus load of lawyers goes over a cliff with one empty seat!

(Maybe not the best lawyer joke but enough to get a standing ovation at a US medical conference I
I went to a couple of years ago).

Seriously, he was incredibly thin skinned. Piss poor effort

The 'glass jaw' of the AFL is a joke but nothing I wouldn't expect from a glorified administrator and his lackey.

Lets remember Andrew as CEO, unlike most major sports in the world, earns a multiple not a fraction of the top players. He has presided over an administration that seems predicated on the belief that it is bureaucrats and officials who make the game.

That kids get up on a Saturday morning and 'puchase' the brand that is AFL as if it was a soft drink or a packet of chips.

He has presided over a competition that has more than half the clubs on life support, that sees the successful clubs with the most money dominating the competition and has sentenced the competition to propping up 2 fledgling clubs that were given concessions out of all proportion to their contribution to the league.

Yes there's been a big increase in revenue for the TV rights. Wow, who would have seen that coming??

Given how the AFL used the fixture to 'punish' Carlton's valid plan to have a third stadium for 10-25K crowds, its pretty gob smacking that the same AFL allowed a strong club in Hawthorn, to dominate a new market in Tasmania, then act all surprised when poor old North wants to head down there but its too late.

But hey, lets not twitter or abuse officials. Andrews reasoing is that that sort of criticism stops people becoming umpires.

Great theory, but.....

If that applied, then how the hell do we even have umpires given the abuse we have all witnessed over the years at suburban footy grounds?

But once again, shhhhh, lets not criticise his highness.
