Don't like the incident much and don't need to defend him but I've never seen a player cop the consistency of hard tags that Judd does (except against Collingwood) and get so little protection from the umpires.

And not bitch and moan about it.

Maybe it comes out elsewhere.

A better comparison might be Greg Williams who the umps and tribunal finally stitched up for brushing an umpire. Got 8 weeks for that and no doubt the sawdust filled skulls of the
AFL will be searching for similar to appease the clowns who think he's deserves the same treatment as Libba. Both Brownlow medalists and all.

Before he was forced to modify his game just to survive, Libba was a ball-winning cleanskin who was never reported once in 150+ games, but that wasn't the purpose of my comparison. What Libba did on a few occasions was push the boundaries with some questionable acts on the field. He got away with it for a while and then was nailed hard. Judd is the only other player I know who has done something similar. I genuinely don't know what to make of Judd's actions on Friday night, or in recent years. He doesn't so much as raise a finger at the opposition 99 times out of 100 but then something completely random and unsavoury happens one in a blue moon.

..he's done 3 dodgey things on field.. ..i'm open to believe they weren't malicious.. ..the eye gouge vs Brown, if i remember correctly he was under a pack trying to get them off him.. ..unsavoury but a little understandable.. ..the pressure point vs richa, richa had grigg in a headlock/chokehold and judd came in to try and get rischa to relent.. ..very bad look, and silly option to take but again his intent was understandable, execution poor.. ....the arm wrench so to speak, again understandable what his intent was,, execution of intent again very poor..

..i don't include the elbow to pav, it was clumsy but near every player on occassion throws an elbow back.. ..it's a clumsy move and being clumsy it will at times land where it shouldn't.. ..sometimes this is deliberate, but more often than not just frustrated clumsiness.. ..possibly a week, prior loading may push it out to 2 weeks.. ..not worthy of anything more..

Cannot see any reason other than blind club loyalty that anyone can find a defence for what Judd did. It's not a hanging offence, but it was pretty bloody weak and he deserves the scrutiny he is getting. Best we can hope for is 1 week, but the media hype may push it to 2 or 3.

Whatever he gets, I'm not sure we can complain.

The fact he was by far and away our best player on the weekend makes it all the more indefensible. Why do a stupid thing like that when it will cost the team so dearly? What chance the Dogs next week?

It is going to be up to the interpretation of the MRP and/or Tribunal (if it gets sent up) as to if the rough conduct is "unreasonable in the circumstances".

Lot of room to manouvre and ambiguity in the definition lets see "how independent" the MRP/Tribunal process is hey Adrian "Chester" Anderson.
