My whole point exactly Harker. We must not crucify just one or two people.
Yes, I haven't liked the structures, selections either but to blame Ratten & Kernahan alone is just farcicle.
Kernahan especially. I want to know what the other line coaches and fitness staff's input has been?
I'm sure the vet will do the right thing and make the appropriate changes, as he did with our recruiting manager.

No need to get upset Surrey.

There are some people you can get into the trenches with and some you can't. Simple

Yes get in the trenches with a coach who is desperate to cling onto his job enough to play the guys you keep harping on about with injuries...

... and Surrey...

Look harker.. its footy... its not Gallipoli.. nobody has to die here.... and ultimately a few of them are going to be delisted...

I think youre having a lend... when you speak of trenches.
Next thing youll put on your bomber jacket and give us a GW Bush speech from some aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.. and Tell us "Youre either with us or against us"

Right???

This is not war or work Harker. We pay good money year in and year out and we put our trust in the recruiting staff and the coaching staff to get us to the promised land. When the wheels start to fall off when we have not achieved what we set out to then serious questions need to be asked.

We have not been in the top 4 for 12 years and have not been on top of the ladder in the 2nd half of the year since 1996. It is a disgrace.

Players are just as much to blame as our complete coaching group.

We have players that have really struggled through playing with injury that we don't hear about.
Robinson has been playing with a broken hand and I understand that Kreuzer will most likely not get up for next week and who knows after that.

We have to be practical and see things the way they really are.

Where these 2, not that I'm isolating them because I'm not, playing against Collingwood?
We all know Robbo & Krooz have been playing injured, just like Judd, etc. These guys cannot string games together because they are mentally weak and have proved it time and time and time again. Spin it how you like, the complete group is part of the issue as well as our coaches

Again, what you don't know today you may know tomorrow.
Robinson and Kreuzer mentally weak? Are you O.K.? Couldn't have selected two worse examples if you tried. May as well throw Simpson in there to form a trifecta.

At the start of this year, my main wish was for our back-line to spend time together and gel as a unit. How has that worked out from an injury viewpoint?
We can blame players, coaches, boards etc. but if you can't get runs of games together something will suffer.
In retrospect it will all be pretty obvious but for now lets just throw a few more darts around.

Players will play according to how theyre trained/conditioned/ drilled/ prepared./ managed/ directed
..

That's fair enough Synbad but some are blaming Ratts for moving Henda back. Meanwhile Jamo gets let off the hook for allowing his man to get 4 goals in one quarter making it impossible for Ratts to do anything but roll the dice.

The players can play better. We have seen them but they don't bring the same mindset week after week. That may well be Ratts fault and it is definately his fault that he hasn't weeded out those week to week types by now.

Last week he wasn't left with much and not even the best coach in the world would have been able to get a win with that 22 come 20.

What we see is subjective but the facts aren't.
I can only hope we're pragmatic enough to shelve away some of the boys that shouldn't be out there and put this year away as the one from hell.

I have no idea what will happen to Ratten but again hope we weigh things up fairly and review our club in a clear light.
No scapegoats required.

yep. :-)

Surry i dont wanna crucify only two people i wanna go through the whole club with a weapon of gas destruction and a scorthced earth policy and start again....
They can all re-apply for their jobs after a full review of the club at every level has been made and the report in.

MAcKay is football manager.. so he is responsible for everything that has gone on this year just as the head coach is.
After all.. he would have been part of the decision making at every level for this year.

Development/recruitment/conditioning/tactics and coaches

this was an abortion of a year.... under his watch

Ratten's in trouble, make no mistake and if you can't keep your resolve about you when everything is falling apart then you won't make the best of your opportunities when things go right.
Make or break for Ratten right now, yet I'm not convinced he may have endeared himself to the powers at be on Friday night.

We have the luxury here of getting things wrong with no repercussions, whereas Kernahan and down, have to make it right leading into next year.
From here, I can only hope we get it right.

harker.. are you in the treches with Surrey or not???

Its very unclear........

you jumped out of that trench pretty fast...

Bottom line is we have a coach who is in self preservation mode.. do you agree or not??

Sounds like you do agree...

So im wondering which trench you actually dig yourself in to???

You seem to be wandering around looking for one that suits exactly what you like and every other trench isnt for you.....

thats what happens when you bring up trenches in a situation like this.....

Adelaide finished 14th last year and are now top 4. They had the cattle back then but just couldn't put the pieces together. Did the change of coach make all the difference?
West Coast finished last in 2010 and have since been top four material. No change of coach required.

We have the cattle but have just not been able to keep them on the park. What happened to WC today and why?
It's really not that hard to work out.

I'm going on record and saying that I did not point the finger at Robinson & Kruezer. I thought I made that well clear.

I've got the perfect game plan for the Doggies. Surprise them by playing Duigan forward, play Hendo down back, Betts at CHF, get our midget forwards to lead into pockets, ensure our field kicking is terrible, make sure all our passes drop short, play six defensive forwards, put Watson in the ruck, kick to 2 on 1 contests and watch the ball get swept away out of our forward line, when Brian Lake leads hit him lace out, get Garlett to play the whole game on Bett's shoulders, ensure there are no crumbers in our forward line by getting them up the ground to swamp stoppages, move Gibbs into 15 different positions but ensure he ends up where he started, let him coast through the game like every other week, make Will Minson look good, miss a record number of tackles, try to pin-pont impossible passes, get more possessions and inside 50s and still lose the game.

I'm confident we've got them covered, they're shaking in their boots- trust me.

I can then make my way home-early again because the traffic after Doggie's games is horrendous- and delete the game on IQ, because I'm running out of hard drive space due, to series linking Antiques Roadshow, which has quickly become my favourite show after round 3.
