Predictable result, lost by not selecting Thornton and/or Bower and then moving Henderson back was the straw that broke the camels back! Amazing coaching - sorry Ratts but that was pathetic.

You need to give yourself a chance to win a game. I'll repeat it one more time - top sides have atleast 2 KP players forward of the centre every week. We could have played Thornton & Henderson and given ourselves a little chance!

The pathetic thing was Ratten putting his ego and pride ahead of the team in not selecting Thornton.

Also Levi should have been played as second ruckman.

 So, you want to play fit, in form players yet you also want to play a guy who has played a total of 4 quarters of VFL footy?
Try reading some of your nonsense before you write it. It might reduce the embarrassment.

We need to see if Levi can play the game. Throwing him into the seniors before he is ready may satisfy your propensity to rant but it wont help the kid himself.

Ratts wont walk. He''s stubborn like Pagan was. Even if we lose every gme from here on in, it'll be hard to sack him s Sticks came out on several occasions and publically guaranteed Ratts to coach out until the end of the year. Anotehr masterstroke by him.

Sticks never guaranteed Ratts would last the season.

Eddie never asked that question like Healy did

Feel sorry for the handfull who have put in each week ( Judd, Simmo, Robbo, Army, Scottland are a few) to be surrounded by less than brave softees who never contribute a f$%ck$n thing when the going gets tough (eg. Garlett, how mant shit games now??..... goals in junk time dont count in my book) .

Bad recruitment has led to a very soft side. Bad coaching has led to a very soft side. Bad recruiting...the list goes on. I was a Ratts supporter but he has lost me now. I understand after coaching for a few years how much injuries destabilize a teams structure, but even when close to full strength our structure ( especially up forward) has been questionable.

But it is not just him... Real problems at this club. Need to look at how teams like North manage to play great footy when blessed with way less than us - how many number one picks do we need??....How many Judds do we need??....I am pissed off now CFC!

More blame should be given to our list, lack of depth & fundamental lack of kicking skills, lack of heart and desire and most of all lack of talent. Than should be given to Ratten.

Lucas, Thornton, Ellard, Curnow, Maclean are not consistent AFL players. Lucas is career magoo, nothing more. Thornton has stopped running. YOu can't pick/ reward a guy with the 1st team when his gps numbers are the club's worst.

Our lack of a spine is where we fail most weeks and consequently lose. CHB is a rotating door. Jamison is not right, either health or past his prime, but he can't man up at FB.

We have no CHF or FF whatsoever. Our ruck has more questions than answers. Kreuzer can not handle taller opposites, let alone taller opposites who can jump, mark, run with him and spoil.

We need two hendersons. One at CHB and one at CHF.

Ratten did get his structure wrong last night imo. I woulda had Duigan roaming in defense. Standing 10-12 metres in front of petrie all night, and forced Jamison to contest the mark. I would imagine Jamison would go 50/50 for the night under those circumstances.

It doesn't help to lose Tuohy and Walker ... especially when there is no depth to replace them.

Lucas should never wear the jersey again.

I feel sorry for Ratten, because the injuries he's had nad the list he's given every week is like polishing a turd, or putting lip stick on a pig.

@AFL: Brett Ratten says Carlton can still make the eight despite last night's loss to the Roos http://t.co/nb1WPsae

While I don't oppose this, simply replacing the coach at this point would be sticking a band aid over a gun shot wound.

Our problems are club deep.

The list is not up to standard. The desire is not there week in week out. and our disposal skills, composure and confidence is non existent.

We are in trouble, and there's no sign 2013 will be any better with this current club-wide setup.

A coach tasked with looking at the list and preparing for 2013 is the best decision for us right now IMO.

Yes and no. A new coach allowed to take over and build it from scratch with his own staff, recruiters, fitness people and a mentor. SImilar to the Essendon* set up. Yes. Lets do that.

But ... a interim type coach essentially taking over from Rats with the same system, structure, list and recruiting/ fitness/ skills coach etc ... is nothing more than shuffling the deck chairs.

imho, Ratten is extracting close to the maximum from this current set up.

Recruiting, Development, fitness/ strength and skills at CFC are not top 8 calibre, let alone top 4.

Friend of mine is a Collingwood supporter. he sent me these texts today

"The umpires say Chick-chick Boom"
"Even I was angry for the Blues"

I think Carlton's shitness has distracted from how disgusting the umpiring was.

4 goals from frees, 3 from 50s. some soft, some marginal a cpl there.

still no reason to lose a game by 10 goals though

I did say Carlton was shit in that quote.
Also a mark or two in the F50 where a free should have been paid to Carlton.
Also 2 goals that came from soft frees outside the 50 where a goal came from the entry.

Thing is we shouldnt have been behind so we wouldnt have been chasing the game. We were crap and deserved to lose. Doesn't make the umps better

Their first goal came from a 50 that was wrong. Then the mark was taken from centre wing to 30m out directly in front.
Then we got 3 in a row and were dominating. I said to my friend, the umps will keep them in the game this 1/4 and we cant dominate them all day. Sure enough, 2 goals from frees/50 immediately.

Defence isn't allowed to settle. Down by a goal in the first quarter Henderson goes back.

at the start we had

AJ Jamison McInness
Yarran Watson Gibbs

Let them settle!!!

I reckon every player nearly played every position on the ground last night. :banghead:

Look at North they picked a structure and stuck to it. Even when we made a run in the third they didn't change.

Agree Psycho. That was the most obvious negative coming from our coaching box last night - PANIC.
That went through the playing group in the end because they showed no faith and threw the structure out the window!
Believe ffs.

Ratten is about confidence and holding your nerve and sticking to said structures.

He really is a shit coach!!!... you can just see how he has no control of anything right now.

If we leave this guy any longer it wont be too much longer we will descend to this

Captain Queeg: Ahh, but the strawberries that's... that's where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt and with... geometric logic... that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox DID exist, and I'd have produced that key if they hadn't of pulled the Caine out of action. I, I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow officers...
