The year was shot after the Adelaide game, it was pretty obvious to all of us. We just didn't want to believe it and that is fair enough. It's now time to change tack and develop something different. There is now 7 games for the Carlton Football club to commence the process of renewal. That will possibly mean giving a few young players some game time and look at what we have got on our list. This will also mean replacing our coach at the end of this year as he is not the answer. Should also mean a proper review of our club and hopefully implement some change which will hold us in good stead going forward. I still believe there is talent on our list which has stagnated badly this year. Hopefully, we can pick up some decent players in the draft (apparently it's a super draft), who may help us bridge the gap at the bottom end of our list.

I've said this previously, but we will go nowhere with players like Mclean and Curnow running in our midfield. Look at the way North have bitten the bullet and relied on its younger running brigade to give themselves the best chance to win a premiership. I reckon they are on the right track. I love the way Brad Scott has not changed direction and stuck to his guns in developing a team that can go all the way. We have relied on individual brilliance to win games. This will never win you a premiership. Malthouse was right when he said we have relied too heavily on Judd ala Buckley at Collingwood. Could you imagine if Judd never came to Carlton. We would have been in dire straits with Ratten in charge.

Also, the lack of a key focal point up forward is beyond a joke now. We kept believing Waite when he eventually plays will solve our problems. Three years in (since Fevola left) and we are still waiting. Put Henderson up forward and leave him there. If our backline suffers so be it. Need to look beyond this year now.

This sounds like a corny clique, but this year is probably the year we had to have. It hurts but you have to remain positive and believe some good will come out of all this.

The move of Henderson after 20 minutes showed that. Looked good up forward.

In the 3rd quarter he had Gibbs, McInness, Robinson, Betts & Duigan all rotate through FF. We couldn't believe it.

As the season unravels further.. we point at all kinds of things.
Its bringing in fit and in form players like Casboult among all kinds of other freaky stuff.

Look.. the club is ill prepared and has been.

Physically we were under the pump before the season started.
We had a few players underdone... (i reckon our conditioning people are spuds.)
Second.. we trained all wrong and have missunderstood where the game was at.
Third our recruiting strategy is totally flawed.
Our players dont believe ...
Our players are falling into a black hole the more the season continues.

We are in a very dark place and its VERY BLUE

The club is being totally lead shithouse....

There is no conditioning of the players roles.
Players are confused and any confidence is evaporating.
Our players are being physsically tested on a weekly basis with every game we play.
Carrazzo
Murrphy
Betts
Simpson
Joseph

Everybody knows ... were mentally soft...we just have not been prepared in any way.

Preparation has been really crap....

Were 12th or something....

Ratten is really not capable.... !!!.. and everybody knows this.

FMD - the ants have ANOTHER BYE - how the !@#$%& do we get fitness/conditioning/game time into casboult, mitchell, davies & white?

The amount of byes for the reserves and their occurance every three or four weeks is ludicrous. Mitchell for example could have had 6 or 7 games under his belt by next week instead of 4. Lack of contionuity must be hurting some of the marginal players build some form and or press their cases. 18 sides playing eachother one and a half times together with a nuff nuff reserves scenario = Rubbish competition. Doesn't alter the fact that we are not good enough.

When a magician reveals how he does a magic trick one week I wouldn't think that he would try the same trick the next week and expect anyone to be bamboozled.

Why start Duigan forward again. Ratts you are a 1 trick pony.

More sweet sugar from you Synbad. Must have developed a sweet tooth.

The players out there tonight for carlton are not as good as their blokes. Stop sugar coating it and blaming it on others just to prove a point. Our blokes were ok but all except judd were 10% worse than their opponent. Saying the coach is the reason for that
is just giving them an easy out and who wants a team of players that fold because they apparently have no faith in the gameplan.

Watson into the ruck. dumbest move i reckon i've ever seen
we are still a bunch of softcock front runners, no matter who says otherwise

Is Ziebell reported? Or will that happen Monday?

From HUN

"But as is so often the case for the publicity-challenged Roos, their win will be completely overshadowed by Judd's brain implosion 10 minutes into the second quarter.

The dual Brownlow medallist was third to a contest with teammate Andrew Carrazzo already having tackled North's Leigh Adams.

Judd then inexplicably lifted and twisted the defenceless Adams' already strapped right arm to leave the prone Roo writhing in agony.

Adams left the ground with what appeared to be a dislocated shoulder.

Thankfully for both clubs, he returned after 12 minutes in the rooms, but the ramifications will last a lot longer with the match review panel certain to review the incident"

I'm spending thousands of my hard earned to bring my son over for the rich game, his first ever melb game. I !@#$%& care lol

It will be great for you. I take my little fella occasionally over here in Adelaide and it's great regardless. Good dad and son time. It's even better when you throw in a weekend away together. The experience will be great. Not so sure about the outcome, but I'm sure he'll love the hotdogs

HA!!!

They dont wanna play for the intellectual pygmy.

Its his flower job to have a team up.

If youre saying these players are shit... and soft... and the coach is great!!!.... we should sign Ratts up to a 15 year contract and delist them all and start again.... concentrating on amazingly galvanised footballers .
Then we might have a chance....

Cos if its the players and not Ratten Mr club... we might as wll give it up now.... cos we have them for 6 to 12 years.

Im a sugar man???... lol

Thats not what you have been accusing me of before today....

Synbad, I have been on Ratts' case as much as you. Without the mysterious posts. He is responsible for putting together a side that caves in. Flaky and mentally soft.

I like your other post better. Less sugar.

North goals from frees and 50's = 7
Blues goals from frees and 50's = 0

Undiscipline football or bad umpiring or both
