Thought ratts said he was 1 or 2 weeks away.
So, is it the old reverse 1 or 2 weeks strategy?

Great read this post!

Gotta find a telecast up here in Perishers rugby land .

If Hendo and Murph come in....we should be right...if they are.

Thornton sounds like he's in form and would be good up fwd to replace Hammer

Go Blues

Bower didn't train with the main group for most of it. Did a separate session off to the side.

Watson does train a lot with the forwards. All about education. Never played forward and cannot see why you would now.

Does that mean he is in? Played on Sunday so they gave him an easy session to get up for tomorrow night.

Carlton expected to name Murphy...

Quote:
Asked if the classy midfielder would be named in the 25, Riley said: "I'm not a trickster. He'll be either in or out for mine. But we'll discuss that later.''

Murphy, who hasn't played for seven weeks, was subjected to a test on his repaired left shoulder with a series of tackles by teammate Ed Curnow and the occasional bump from Andrew Carrazzo.

Curnow wrapped his arms around Murphy's upper body several times to simulate what would happen at a stoppage at Etihad Stadium tomorrow night.

"He went through a fitness test the other day, pulled up OK. He's doing another one now,'' Riley said.

"We'll know more in an hour (after training), but hopefully he's right. But we won't be taking any risks with a player of that quality.

Blues prepare young backman for ruck duties...

Quote:
Carlton has given 195-centimetre defender Matthew Watson a rucking "crash course" this week in case he is needed to support No. 1 big man Matthew Kreuzer.

It is still unclear whether star midfielder Marc Murphy will play against North Melbourne tomorrow night, but Blues assistant coach Mark Riley did give an indication of how the coaches plan to cover for the loss of regular ruckmen Shaun Hampson (knee injury) and Robert Warnock (VFL suspension) and assist Kreuzer.

"The next tallest player will come in and be the second ruckman," Riley said after training today.

"Watson went into the ruck last week, but as he told us, there wasn't any stoppages when he went in there," he said.

"So we've done a bit of a crash course with him this week.

I want to see them run the ball through the lines and into the forward 50m like they did a lot more last week, instead of bombing it long.

We have the speed now to do it, if we turn it over, so be it.

I am not sure if others noticed it, but on a number of occassions last week I got frustrated at walker for not handpassing it on to a free carlton player who could have run it into the forward 50, but instead bombed it long to a contest where we were outnumbered. If we have people running forward and they are free, use them.

go blues

I think we needed Francis Bourke rather than Ed Curnow taking the tackling simulations.

He's being unkind about Brent Harvey's delightful partner. Right up there with Belinda Neale

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-ne ... 1115969539

"THE partner of Kangaroos footy star Brent Harvey has escaped conviction for punching two mothers at a children's play centre after one of them called her "trailer trash".

Shayne McClintock king-hit a woman and an off-duty police officer who intervened in the fight over a cushion at the Rare Bears Indoor Play Centre in Eltham last May."
