Mark Maclure was sensational in that segment. Most of the time - he gets it. He certainly understands Carlton.

I disagree.... he's flip flopped his opinion in just the last week.

I was talking primarily about the clubs culture...and not putting up with mediocrity. And talking down to David King who doesn't understand Carlton and comes from one of those clubs that are irrelevant to the competition. The other stuff re: matters pertaining to the team he may have flip flopped because he now has a conflict of interest.

Attitudes like Maclure's is one of the reasons why we're in this predicament.

'We don't accept mediocraty?' - What does that mean?

'We don't want to be an irrelevent club'

They are emotional bull$hit statement, lacking any considered thought on how to get the club operating in a successfull manner over the long term.

This is television. This isn't a board meeting. Recognise it for what it is!

Unfortunately its views such as these that have lead to poor decisions made in the past.

McClure didn't "flip flop" his opinion. It was probably correct at the time. I have no doubt Ratts would have been thinking after the Hawthorn game "If we keep getting pumped like this, I will not be coaching in 2013".

Now he has orchestrated a win that nobody thought he could get. The landscape has changed slightly, which reflects what McClure was saying in that show.
