Making assumptions on the fitness of some....

In...Thornton, Murphy
Out..Simpson, Hampson (both inj)

Thornton been kicking goals in the VFL and we do need a forward target. Another 5 today.

FROM MY NORTH SUPPORTING PAL ...
North don't tag. They are a very fast team playing kamikaze footy. Chains of mindless handballs until Wells gets it. Petrie crashes packs like a mofo. Hansen easy to spoil. Tarrant a crap kick for goal. Atley (think that's his name) super quick. Thomas a very good forward nowadays.

Should be a fun game. Didn't see much against WC to worry us.

Let's calm down, we just came off a mini final. You know what we normally do the following week. North Melbourne always gets under our skin. We have to be ready, super important game to stay in touch with the 8.

Nah. That horse has bolted. Biggest game of the year was St. Kilda, and then Port, and then Geelong, and then West Coast.

Totally totally agree.
When the bar was there to be aimed for, we choked. The bar has been re-set much lower now and we can always hide under the 'injuries' apron if we need to.

Wasted year.

All I want out of the year is games into Collo, McInness, Watson, Lucas, Brock and maybe 3-5 game cameos by Mitchell, McCArthy and Dale. The rest is all meaningless.

For 2013, whatever decision is taken, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE LET IT BE THE RIGHT ONE.

Last 6 weeks will cost us a flag in 2012 but at the very least, lets still aim to make the finals and do whatever we can once there to go as far as we can! Lets try to make preliminaries - the long way! Never give up.

It doesn't get any easier unfortunately. If we bring in the same intensity this week against the Roos as we did last Friday we will win.

I wouldn't think Duigan would be able to play forward this week - the filth defence/MC hadn't and couldn't be prepared for Hampson going down meaning we had mediums/smalls up forward. North will be awake to it this week.

No doubt Sam Wright will go straight to Yarran as well...we can't be one dimensional bringing the ball out.

Gibbs got the 3 votes playing lead up forward against them last year kicking 4 goals.

Well it is clear who the two outs are:

Out: Simpson (inj), Hampson (inj)

Who comes in then? I like the idea of Kreuzer taking the majority of the ruck work so long as we bring in either Mitchell or Casboult. Only those who follow them closely in the VFL will be able to say if they are fit enough though.

Assuming they aren't fit enough, I can't see why changing the previous plan would be worthwhile - we dont have the right blokes to come in. So, this means:

In: Mitchell (if fit) or Warnock, Lucas.

Of course, is Murphy and/or Henderson are good to go, it becomes even tougher.

Would be keen to see McLean given a full game too - he has been excellent in the last few weeks and shouldnt be sitting on the bench for three qtrs.

Ellard to be the sub IMHO.

I agree. There is talk Waite, Henderson & Murphy will all be fit.

Given what I saw today of Lucas, OKeefe, Ellard & Bootsma Thursday Night will be interesting.

Just please stay with the one ruckman.

Don't think anyone will be dropped this week.
Hopefully Murph and Hendo can replace Simmo and Hammer

No Simpson means that they can tag Murphy, and maybe Boomer will run off Judd ?
Or they may try 2 tags

Either way Boomer to get 32 pos
Thomas to kick 3 or 4 goals

We never play great footy against these flogs
It will be close

And I can't see Garlett ever getting dropped while Ratten is coach.
He's been carried more than Jordan Russell was.

True, but he repaid the faith Friday.

Collins has lots of good thing but one glaring weakness. He cannot kick on his left. Twice he was pressured onto his non natural side and instead of going with the left he opted for an outside foot kick with his preferred foot. Both times it caused turnovers, one was a goal.

This will be tougher than we would imagine. They, like the Hawks, keep beating us. Their coach is smarter than he looks and has done well to get them going lately, playing as a team.

They will just rough us up and we will go to jelly like school girls at the St Kilda open days..

They didn't beat us last year [we won by 5 goals] but if you consider the NAB Cup as an example of them beating us, then you are correct.

We will win.
I think we will win all the games leading into the finals though.
So that doesn't mean much!
