Carlton's twitter retweeted Simmo's manager and his manager said he's up and about. Sounds like he's alright.

Contact was intentional, high with severe impact. It will go straight to the tribunal on that.

If it's graded as body contact, it's a level 5 offence/8 activation points. 550 points. Loading and an early plea makes it 275 points/2 weeks suspension with 75 points carry over.

Hope it goes to the tribunal.

Kade will not have surgery but will have band fixation to his jaw and is expected to miss up to four matches.

What's band fixation?

Hopefully it's no more than 4.

Dog act. He should get more than 4 but probably won't. What did Magro get '79 back in '79?

From Carlton's Facebook page:

Carlton Football Club
THE RUN IS OVER.

Kade Simpson's run of consecutive games has come to an end with scans today confirming that the brilliant midfielder sustained a broken jaw following a collision during the third quarter in last night's match.

Kade will not have surgery but will have band fixation to his jaw and is expected to miss up to four matches.

Shaun Hampson has had scans on the knee he injured early in the first quarter and will meet with medical staff tomorrow to determine the full extent of the injury. Further details will be available late tomorrow afternoon.

My sister had this with Wham! in 1983...shocking condition. Untreatable. Lots of screaming involved.

sorry...

Kade will probably have bars placed on the upper and lower teeth with the use of elastic bands. He'll be on a liquid diet for a couple of weeks while the jaws is bound. Have read some sporting injury forums...4 weeks seems to be the norm...some say 6-8. Depends on the fracture.

Intention has to be taking into consideration, he has stopped his consectitive game streak he has to pay, if he gets 4 weeks thats not justice for mine

Thanks Doc. I need to get my broken jaw fixed, after reading that I'm happy for it to keep clicking.

Sounds like what they do to kids with braces.

Just watched the replay and I reckon it was intentional. He could have tried to spoil, or just run into Simmo to put him off, but he jumped up into him quite late.

Intentional won't stick... it rarely does

Even if the MRP initially class it as such, it will get reduced to Reckless on appeal

425 activation pts... early guilty plea = 3 match ban

Deserves to be out as long as Simmo is at least imo

At normal speed first up viewing it looked intentional...
in slow motion it looked less intentional...but still intentional

I don't know how it cannot be considered anything but intentional. He had him lined up from at least 5 metres away!

So sorry for him and his unbroken run; and sorry for us who love the Club.

425 points with an early plea with his clean record will be a 2 week ban.

You'll be happy to know that Bucks said that "however
many weeks Sharrod gets he'll cop it on the chin"

Admittedly he didn't know about the broken jaw then, but an interesting choice of words.

In hindsight, nowhere near the Milburn incident. Wellingham was late, had to make a contest, way too much momentum, made him earn it, unfortunately he injured him in doing so.

If it were one of ours, and they pulled out (which was probably the only alternative), we'd be filthy.
