Doc, Cazman, Synners et al.

Cool it.

Differing opinions are fine, but cheap provocations are for lesser people than you.

Enjoy what we saw tonight.

Thanks.

Great win tonight

When was the last time we beat Collingwood twice in a year

Judd is back
Yarren was so silky tonight
Kreuzer is our number one ruckman
Carrazzo is our most important player
Robbo head first all night
Simmo bleeds blue put his body on the line. Hope Lucas watched the game, that's what we need from him to get a game.
Murphy back next week

Been so depressed all week thinking about today's game, most open season in a long time, peak at the right time and anything can happen.

I love this club :thanks: :thanks:

Sorry for interrupting with some footy comment, but it was great to see yazz with a big smile on his face after that goal.

Yeah like a wet lettuce leaf.

You have spent a month dismantling the club brick by brick and you think I have come out swinging!!!!

Come on admit it. Deep down you are seething about the result. You wanted Ratts anguished face spread over the front and back page of every paper tomorrow. Ratts with the 'hangmans noose' Photoshopped in behind him would have made your day.

I guess you will just have to wait another week for the 'Last Post' to sound. And if you and your supporters get your way then or anytime thereafter, I will support whomever comes along just as I support Ratts now. The real point is that if Ratts was replaced as Coach, with each passing day that new Coach would be 1 day closer to you wanting them gone.

Tonight I am happy and smug and you and a few others will just have to suck it up just like I have had to suck it up for the past month.

Regards Cazzesman

My Cazz not sure if youre getting this.
The club and Ratts are not out of the woods.

I have the right to put the acid on the club to win games.

This week makes no difference unless these games are followed up with above average performances.

If theyre not... he has failed.. etc

Im not sure what youre not getting....

Youre acting like you have the final say cos we just won a flag.........
we havent....

You do know.... he said top 4 this year right???

And we are a top 4 side... cos we beat a top 4 team.

No excuses....

This year has been disappointing..... cos were outside of the eight.

The problem is...if we dont sustain this.

Then more questions get asked.

and dont think we dont need a thorough review of the footy club after today... INCLUDING EVERYTHING!!!.... leave no stone unturned... none... !!!

Thats how you answer questions !!!!

But noone wants that at the club....

Why???

and yes.. ill keep askin quesions and focussing on anomalies.

My mistake. For some strange reason I thought there was some on TC that hoped Ratts would get the club a win and those that hoped the opposite and the guillotine would fall.

You're right I must be losing it. I'm off to bed in the hope a good nights sleep will clear my confusion in the matter. Perhaps when I wake up we will have lost and the world will be a better place for some.

Amazing game of footy. A very early sub, one man down leaving us with one ruck/tall on the ground, backs against the wall after 360 degree shellackings from media and supporters all week...and we comprehensively smash the league leader and arch nemesis AGAIN. The scoreboard was flattering - we could have won by 10 goals again, and that small period of inaccuracy in the 3rd (about 7 goals by my count) kept them in touch for a bit, but our full 4 quarter performance in the face of complete dismissal by the entire football world is the stuff that seasons are made on. One of the best games I've seen us play in the last decade and one of the few true 4 quarter dominations we've delivered in the last few seasons.

Most pleasing was the performance of so many players in the firing line here every week - 1. McLean's contribution was undeniable - a player who knows his limitations and exploits his strengths. While we've slumped hard, I honestly believe in Murphy's absence we'd have been even worse without Brock. Maybe offer decreased pay if he wants to stay next year, there's a place for him no doubt. 2. AJ very solid tonight, hard at it all night. 3. Gibbsy playing season-best footy, the way we know he can and even got into the hard stuff, very nice. 4. Kreuzer, the supposed failed golden goose on one leg pulls out a stellar performance as the only ruckman. Granted it's only Collingwood ruck-wise, but it had shades of Warnock's finals campaign last year with so much more - he really is our #1 ruckman and I can't wait til his body is right after another preseason. 5. Yarran showing everything he has and then some - his run tonight was terrific and indicates he may finally be fit and switched on. His goal was a crucial game icer and his silky skills were on show tonight. 6. An improved showing by Garlett, tackling pressure back to his best, the goals will come, he's defintiely a confidence player and more run will break the drought.

Judd did everything a player of his calibre should tonight, a lot of his early stuff went under the radar but really tightened us up, really dominated in the latter stages. Nick Duigan is proving to be such a valuable part of our toolbox, he really does embody toughness and resilience in our backline, and he brought that same steely determination to our forward line tonight - a pleasure to watch. Definitely a master stroke moving him up tonight, even if some flogs/blind Ratten haters are crediting that move to Richardson/Brown tonight. Carrots, what can I say? 26 touches at 100%, 6 tackles and 7 clearances on Beams, oustanding. Jamo starting to find a bit of physical presence tonight, a lot of spoils and while he was shaky on a couple of disposals, I hope this is a sign he is turning a corner at long last. The longer Matty Watson gets a run, the better he gets. Hard to believe this is the same kid getting absolutely reamed against Collingwood last year. Wins the 1-on-1s almost every time and has second efforts I didn't think he was capable of last year...a lot of promise. McInnes slotted in well, not a game breaker but a solid first game, 12 touches 5 tackles...nice. Walker pulling out a few freaky things, Eddie Betts one of most valuable players - and to think some were calling for him to be traded last year. And Robbo - what a maniac! Starting to really stamp his authority like he did earlier last season. Hammer going down was a shame as he looked switched on, hope the PCL isn't too bad. Gotta admit I was worried when Simmo went down as he was really in everything tonight. Wellingham the dog will get 4 weeks at least for that one. The Collingwood flog in the crowd cheering him off was disgusting - the whole thing had shades of Milburn/SOS all over again. Loved that the boys wanted to punch on tonight, they fought for each other and they didn't shirk the rough stuff on the ball either - spoils/smothers/tackles were off the charts.

This doesn't change a lot, but it does release the pressure valve a little bit, allow Sticks/Ratts etc some breathing room to stay out of the media, get back to business and get the boys focused for a tilt from here. Should impose a media ban for the next few weeks and get back to basics. Ratts is probably still gone next year, but do we really need to be discussing that after such an impressive win? Yeah it woulda been nice if we showed that from Round 3 til now, but we didn't...can't change that. What we can change is from here - bring that game, that passion for the jumper, for Ratts and each other and we're in every game. It's clear the players and Ratts have a good relationship, it was evident after the game. This week of incredible scrutiny may finally have been the rocket that fired them back into action. Judd saying the players finally gave Ratts the reapect he deserves tonight speaks volumes. He may be gone next year, but it's not the players' call. Let's focus on footy - we still have a real shot if we play like that each week...and a slim chance if we're sporadic with it.

So happy, so proud of what the boys did tonight and to the Filth no less. It's only one week at a time from here on out make no mistake, but boy oh boy is this week sweet!

:thanks:

Finger crossed Kreuzer has arrived and not another false dawn.

ie Sydney last year 24 possessions then dropped following two games to 11 & 9.

This is his best game since then. I think Judd may pip him for brownlow votes ;)

Who was the poster who defended Collingwood supporters in another thread a couple of days ago. How classy are they cheering when Simmo went down. What a bunch of scumbags!!!

P.S. GO BLUES!!! Loving the win!

Very true but after 10 steps backwards it is always a joy to take that 1st step forward again, even if it is into a mud puddle  . Now even you couldn't disagree with that.

Dear Carlton Friend,

I just want to wish you all the very best of luck this evening. I know you will all be there tonight given what loyal supporters you are. I know that these games are hard for you to watch because you have to balance the fact that you grew up hating the pies and now, deep down in places you don’t like to acknowledge, you admire and respect the mighty black n Whites. It’s ok. You should know that we also admire the mighty black n whites.

If not for the fact that your team were turgid front runners with selfish players who are more interested in racking up individual awards than playing for club and jumper (and if you still had a jumper – what is that baby blue nonsense), and if they had any ounce of real football ability, we might have a modicum of respect for your team as well.

Instead, we go into the game looking forward to the destruction we will cause your already shaky egos and we fear that if the game unfolds as expected, we may never ever hear from you again.

You told us you were coming, you told us you were cooking, you told us you had no passengers. I for one have looked long and hard for evidence that any of this is true and I will continue to look for evidence of that tonight. Alas, we expect to be disappointed.

So good luck. May you enjoy a rare opportunity to enjoy players like Goldsack, Sinclair, Williams, Elliot, Blair, Maxwell, Toovey and Dawes – players who do whatever it takes to make our team better without worrying about personal awards. May you also enjoy Swan, Beams, Thomas, Sidebottom, Shaw, Cloke, Reid and jolly who are true superstars in every sense of the word. And may you enjoy our colorful supporters who are without doubt the best in football (even Joffa).

Go Pies!

That thread is bringing me sooooo much joy right now! Bunch of flogs gotta eat their words tonight...the rest of the footy world need to tomorrow, most of them on air.

Saddest part about this is it's more enjoyable for me right now to read Pies supporters cursing and praising our group than to read our supporters' posts...reckon they're more complimentary at this point in time of us than we are. Some of you need to get out of the sandpit even if you can't get on the wagon.

Good win tonight.

Who ever came up with the game plan we employed at the start of the match, well done. Pies changed their team before the game because of out team structure.

Having 1 focal point (Hammer), 2 HBFers playing HFF (Duigan & Armfield) and 2 small forwards (Betts & Garlett) with the midfield running though there too looked to be working a treat until Hammer went down.

Hammer looked like he was going to stay in the forward 50 for a majority of the night and Kreuzer almost playing an old fashion ruckman role by taking backline and centre of the ground. Full credit to Kreuzer tonight. He was going as strong at the end of the game as the start of the game.

Credit must also be given to whoever rejigged the forward setup without destroying the backline setup after 1/4 time.
