Nothing changes though, just delays Ratts end. The boys had all the motivation tonight, a couple of surprise tactics, need to show it for the rest of year now when the ammunition for motivation might not be so great.

Seriously, some of you flogs can't even enjoy a win anymore without it distracting you from some Ratten bashing.

Glad I got to enjoy a good win without suffering mixed emotions

I enjoyed it Brad, will you next week if we don't back it up? Thats all I'm saying.

Touhy quiet but Dawes has killed us in past games so maybe he did his job without looking spectacular.

Watson is improving by the week and did OK again tonight.

I thought Watson played on Dawes....and Tuohy was really good.

Maybe they shared him? Touhy wasn't as attacking as he has been is what I was referring to.

How good is Harry O'Brien? Easily the best player in the comp at standing next the the guy on the mark.

Down side in one respect was the showing of that feral on the tv. That rant was such an embarrassment. I wonder if anyone can lip read what he said? Classic shot of him later though...

The one who they showed yapping at an irrelevant time?

What about the bloke clapping and cheering Simpson as he came off?

Really proud of the Blues tonight. The intensity was great from beginning to end. If you put that effort in every week, then you will always be a chance. Apart from the Hawthorn game our intensity has been good since the Port Adelaide disaster.

Yarran and Walker are two of our game breakers. Need these type of players to perform well to really make a difference against the top teams. You need your foot soldiers, but its those players that can break lines who can make a big difference.

I have been critical of Kreuzer as I have been concerned about whether he is developing in the manner we all expect. However, he was wonderful tonight and hopefully he can continue with that sort of form. Hopefully, we never see the three ruckmen policy employed again. Pity hammer got injured as he did look like he was going to play well.

I can enjoy the weekend now.

we match up well against the pies and because they tend to play their own game, we were allowed to play our own game and we have seen the results - offensively we played much better and we were given time to hit targets. most teams this year have rushed us and disturbed our forward ball movement.

anyway what impressived me most as a team was the team defence when we did not have the ball - thats what contained the pies and provided the platform for victory. the challenge for the group is to do this week in and week out

individual performances
- kroozer awesome, thought Jolly was pretty poor
- joseph did well
- yarran a class above
- duigan and robinson great performances
- walker stepped up when Hampson went down, all credit to moving forward and credit to Walker for an outstanding performance
- judd (given space) worked really hard
- mclean and curnow were good with the hands meant Judd, Gibbs and Yarran could use the ball forward
- scotland mr reliable
- Betts, loves playing on Harry :)
- nice game from the new kid (looks like a taller Lucas)
