Gerard says I get the feeling ratts won't survive a month of poor form. He said nobody would survive 4 weeks of good form. Any change he will let us know..

To all the supporters hopefully whatever happens on Friday, he hopes we will see a spirited side, and it's not all ratts fault.

Excuses after excuses........... Do flower something......

Ratts is gone... he will tell him soon..... make no mistake...

But sticks stuck fat cos he sticks.. and he needs to show ratts he got every opportunity.
Brown will most likely be coaching next week

Nah, Fraser has told Sticks he has a serious business to run and no coaching experience doesn't work for Sticks, though..

We've got a Malthouse thread. We've got a Roos thread but there's not actually a "do we need a new coach" thread so here I go...

I'll kick it off by linking to an article where Sticks is reported as only offering Ratts "qualified" support!

http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/artic ... or-ratten/

An obvious question.. Do we need a new coach or is it as some players are suggesting, just a matter of the players doing better?

As usual, I think the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

The board are safe with Sticks....

Of course he can be their president.

BUT.. i do know and believe .. they were very confident about flags....and at least one inside this year and next....(or a huge shot at)

Just goes to show how much foresight they had

Players who have gone backwards from last season:

Walker
Russell
Gibbs
Judd
Kruezer (playing injured)
Warnock
Yarran (playing injured)
Thornton
Jamison
Garlett

You can say that the players above have performed well below their best. Throw in the long term injuries to Murphy, Carazzo, Waite and Laidler and you have a disaster on your hands. The problem has been not the injuries but the non-performing players taking the field every week.

It may be a case that the coaching staff has lost the dressing room.

Well, the members do NOT elect the President. The Board is elected and then appoints the President.

That is and always has been the constitution of the CFC. The problem is that we dont vote people on anymore, they get invited ad then "confirmed "at the next AGM.

Those who are leaving at the end of this season are all (AFAIK) elected on the tickets about 6 or so years go. Most on the Board will be the "invited" ones.

When Spartels ran i was unkind to Harrison.
Firstly he lied about the money he was going to brin g into the club.
Secondly he brought up the cost of an election as to why there shouldnt be one.

He misses the point .

And were like that.....

This club is misisng the point.

Friday April 13. Smash the pies by 10 goals and are 3 zip.

Tuesday July 3. Our entire club is in absolute turmoil. 6-7 win loss record.

That is a terribly fast decline.

The whole club needs to be reviewed from top to bottom. It needs to be fully known how our entire club can be brought to its knees in a matter of 2-3 months.

Don't care how brutal it is. I welcome the shake up. Whatever it takes to rectify our issues.

Step 1. Blues get done by 10 goals+ and Ratts will be gone by Saturday arvo.

Step 2. G Brown has ambitions of being a senior coach some day so he refuses to take over as Interim Coach. P Williams takes the gig instead.

Step 3. Blues lose the next 9 games and finish 14th.

Step 4. We appoint Malthouse (after a very vigorous search of course!!).

Step 5. Mick convinces Reid, Beams & Cloke to come on over.

All good.

I just hope if a decision is made on Ratts to leave, that his exit is treated in a respectful manner - he is a champion of the club.
These decisions are tough and they don't any easier no matter who they are.
The next coach is going to be one of the most important coaching appointments we make at our club since Barassi deflecting from Melbourne to us in the 60's. Hope they do their due diligence.
Make no mistake, if Ratts goes, others should be shown the door, too. Fitness, recruiting, admin?

I posted something similar yesterday, that if Ratten is shown the door then he is treated with respect and he can go with dignity. I have the feeling that if we lose by quite a margin on Friday night that over the weekend the club will negotiate a payout and he will step down on Monday.
This will give the club plenty of time to start a process of appointing a new coach.
I would have thought that Richardson will take over although i am hearing from a couple of different people, including some on here, that Brown will get the job. Who knows, it may ignite our season.

I'm purely guessing, but you would think that whoever takes over would be someone that either doesn't want the main gig, or wouldn't be considered anyway as it will conflict with what will do in the last 8 rounds.

Anyone with ambitions for next year is not going to want senior players to go in for ops, will want to rush key players back, will not want to experiment by having a look at everyone for 2013, or pump games into kids for the risk of going 2-6, or 1-7 which would seemingly do their chances no good when applying for the main position.
