So Bruce will bring in his people to do the review?
His people have been involved in the review of lots of football clubs yeah?

No, but i'm sure there's a dozen suitably qualified (and independant) individuals who could do it.

Then it's a matter of having a board and admin who will agree with the findings and implement the recommendations.

Maybe Bruce could make sure the latter happens.

Who is going to perform this review? Also as I said at the time, a periodic review is always a good idea.

Someone external to the organization! Someone who does it for a living. And you know what - they don't have to necessarily have to be the same people who do a football department review. That can be separate as far as I am concerned...but the rest is a business model overhaul. I had a Carlton staff member tell me last night on twitter she 'gets reviewed every year'...of course you do!! But your manager does the review and he's part of the problem. Guess what? His manager is part of the problem too! Why don't people get this??

It would be funny though if we did scrape into 8th, play the Bummers in another elim final and pants them again.

That'd be great - but in the greater scheme of things, it doesn't matter...would just be a cover-up for the amateur hour that we've got going off-field. That's where the biggest problem lies.

Oh I realise that.

It would just be amusing after being woeful most of the year.

Ok. We are getting somewhere.

We would like a number of reviews to occur.
These reviews would be performed by external parties.
These external parties would have skills and experience in line with the type of review required.
These reviews would need to be overseen by someone. Who is this person?
This person would have to report to the Board. But what if the Board are not receptive?

I'm quite sure the club has an annual QA audit. You don't release internal QA audits to the general public. Bruce would know that.

Any man that gifts to us the goose that lays golden eggs and wants a review of the whole of the footy club from top to bottom whilst not wanting to be the King of England himself....cant be too bad....

Its amazing how you can be asking so many questions right now Dane...

Im impressed!!!

Bruce Mathieson is larger than life. Massive for the club!
But when he wants new faces at Carlton.. c'mon Bruce mate, seriously - step up Brucey. It's all yours if you want it and no one will stand in his way...

DocSherrin covered this off weeks ago....gave plenty of reasons (more like hundreds of millions) why Mathieson doesn't want to be at a footy club day to day. The Melbourne winter for one most likely.

No reason he has to contribute the money and spend it.

They've got no choice. You want to pay off the debt? You acquiesce to Bruce Mathieson's demands. End of story.

Isn't Bruce just doing what some are discusted the Pratts are doing? Donating money then wielding the power that comes with that?

Review it up and lets move on.

I think Scarponi folds in on himself.

No, Bruce wants a review.. the Pratts like it to be like a family business.
Its what they know.

I've been part of enough internal audits to know they're all part of a sugarcoating exercise.

Kinda like an alcoholic being asked to quit and given the responsibilty of hiding his own alcohol.

External audits are the way to go if you're serious about improving your business.

Do we have the balls?

QA audits are done from external QA assessors.

Wayne Hughes has already been demoted. If he wasn't looking elsewhere as I type, I'd be very surprised. Keen to see Shane Rogers in the top job. He's unearthed some gems. Deserves his chance.

I hope Hughes stays. Every club needs a recruiter who has unearthed some gems and roughies who play their role. I wish we could tell how these name recruiters would look if their club were in Carlton's position between 2004 and 2006. And their clubs had traded their fair share of second rounders between 2007 and 2009.
