I thought that's what Hornet meant when he said we might keep it under 5 goals.

So Harris gives T-Bird a rap in that VFL report: "Thornton turned up to play today".

That's nice. Pity no-one did the previous week.

Wonder who will turn up this week?

That is the problem Hunter. Even happens with the better players on our list. Not always week to week either. Often quarter to quarter. Too flaky.

This +1.

I have been waiting for weeks and weeks for 2-3 early clearances, a strong mark in forward 50 followed by a goal..or pressure act in forward 50 and goal from clearance inside fwd 50.
If we get a couple of early goals from center clearances, maybe just maybe the players mood will start to lift and play with confidence for rest of game. If not we are doomed.

The three ruckman thing hasn't worked.

I was a fan of it to start with, and kinda still am. But for one reason or another it's just not working - and Kruezer looks injured too!

Out's:-
Kreuzer ( injured or just plain out of form)
Jammo (injured)
Bootsma (out of his depth)

In:-
McInnes (worth a shot)
Lucas (if he starts as a sub i'll just leave before the first bounce)
Thornton (why not)

Warnock, Hampson & Kruezer should ONLY play in the ruck.

Therefore just play the one.

One can play in the ruck and one can play out of the pocket. No reason why not.
Problem is we are playing them as our KP forwards and not as 3rd talls.
Development & Structure might be an issue here though.

But in order to play them as 3rd talls, we would need 1st and 2nd talls...all of which are either injured or clearly not ready (Mitchell).

So they are needed to fill the key posts while Waite, Henderson, Rowe and Casboult are injured. Thornton is the only other option but he himself is the 3rd tall-type. I'm not sure what else we can realistically do under the circumstances.

Always agreed with this, except Thornton should have played against Hawthorn, as Bower should have as well.
