I can't see the point in sacking him before the end of the year. It might happen if we lose to Norf or the Dogs by 10 goals but overall I think it would be futile. We'd just appoint one of the assistants as caretaker and nothing would change.

fresh voice

theyre head [REDACTED] right now.

I think he will be gone, but it will take either a 120 point loss to the Pies, 10 goal losses to either North or the Doggies to do it. Think is I think it will happen, either in the next three weeks or shortly after.

I want him gone too, him coaching desperately trying to make the finals and playing injured players is achieving nothing. We all know he will be gone at the end of the season anyway, so whats the point of keeping him now?

well on Bigfooty there is a post stating that Ratten is gone. Press conference tomorrow morning. Could be true - club has been really quiet since Friday night. Calm before the storm?

If he's lost the players then there is no choice - he has to resign.
I've heard leadership group was 100% behind him yesterday. Unless something drastically happened between drinks.

Let him coach the year out, we could be just having a shocker of a run and might find something by year's end. Wouldn't be the first side. I'm sure Woosha would've been gone bar his contract after getting the spoon in 2010. That changed fast. Don't see the point of getting rid of him now as it stands. Of course a huge shellacking from North, Richmond or the Dogs would change things. Sort of handle it from Hawthorn, not from those sides.

Next year is a different matter. Unless suddenly had this huge winning steak with what's left of our side he won't be there. For example, 7 from 9 and a finals berth would be some turn around with "no players" left. Anyway, won't happen. He has really got it so wrong this year. He really misread the "wind" when planning our playing style this year. It was obvious after last years finals series that hard contested footy was the way to go. Sides went with it while we continued with our style and got found out big time. That should lose him his job as that error stops with the coach. nothing more certain, in my mind, that MM will coach Carlton next year.

Yep!

Can see us beating Bulldogs and Gold Coast.
If he survives Pies thrashing, he shouldn't survive a 50 point loss to Kangas.
What happens if we lose to Bumbers, Tigers
What if we lose the next ones against Doggies Richmond and Sydney?
Carlton will be in meltdown if Ratts survives.
The Lions are next before another 3 games.

My outlook on our win loss record for the remainder of the season doesn't look too promising.

Will have to stop the bleeding.

Just maybe he has realised he has lost the players and as such has resigned for the good of the club?

He looks a broken man. I just hope that if he is let go then he can go out with dignity. He is a favourite son at Carlton, a premiership player and former captain who no doubt loves the club probably more than most of us do. Really sad situation right now.

Agree with your sentiments. While I am as unhappy as anyone about where we find ourselves, if Ratts were to be moved on, I hope it is done with as much dignity as possible. Not exactly sure how that can be executed to be truthful but I hope the club find a way. He deserves that much.

What a [REDACTED] year this is
