You did strike a nerve with me re: poverty and illness though. Probably not the right one.

Before tonight, if getting our club's shit together meant impoverishing New Zealand or whichever poor bastard country ends up with our asylum seeker policy, I'd sign off on it in a heartbeat.

If it meant Molly Meldrum falling off a few more ladders, or North Melbourne folding and breaking the hearts of a few primary school children who love....Daniel Wells or Hamish McIntosh or Sierakowski, so be it, they'll get over it.

Now I just couldn't give a stuff.

youd be surprised what the footy means to some people
years ago when we were shit i met a guy who didnt have long to live at training.... he hoped.... not sure where he is now...

lots of people in the world and alot of different things going on.

footy is a release... or it wouldnt exist....

dont underestimate what it means to different people...

Footy is emotions

highs lows
and everythin g in between

Ratts life as he knows it is about to be trampled upon.

But he would have to be a fool to think it was going to be smooth sailing.

Comes with the territory

And Ratts has ended other peoples careers too... comes with the territory too.

Just wish he wasnt so hopeless

Quite possible it could be the same day they both go.

Pollies love the September elections, club would love to avoid the front page.

The response to my initial post has been pure TC. Because I offered a different take on the way I see and support CFC and those who work there, I am now presumed to be 'Less than a real diehard supporter and not worthy of being an employee" (my words paraphrased of course).

I guess that just goes to show how myopic some here on TC are.

Actually, your recent posts have been smothered in defensive and deflect ridden prose, rather than your usually hilarious, sarcastic, sardonic and witty retorts (occasionally coupled with an e-photo of sorts)

It's OK Cazz, you're still allowed to believe what you want to believe. Just convince us of your convictions with typical smart alec responses. C'mon, find the mojo again.
After all, things are nowhere near as critical as the myopic masses would want us to believe they are? Aren't they?

This.

When you've got players saying they aren't putting pressure on themselves despite being the most out of form side in the comp for two months you don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Cazz works with these people and may well have forged friendships with many. If people are having a go at someone you personally know and see a different side of, you are more likely to be constructive in support, and even defensive of them.

Cazz is right in his perspective as others are in their differing views.

Get Ratts back coaching from the boundary line and cheering again to show that he cares.

:?

I'm sure they go home after a game and start counting their money, rather than feeling down after a bad day at work.

They could show they care by balling everyone out like supporters.

Kouta ..... give us a rundown on each player and tell us who they reminded you off.

Thats your forte...

grro the entire world has issues and most are life and death minute by minute. Some on here seem to think the end of the world is near because CFC is struggling. The vitriol and hatred in the posts of many beggars belief.

People need to get a life, pure and simple. I understand people need to have a passion and a hobby and it is mine, but for goodness sake supporters need to just get a grip on reality.

It is 2 hours in a week out of 168 hrs. Show some perspective for goodness sake. It's a piece of leather moved from 1 end to the other, that's all it is. A large portion of the world population doesn't have enough to eat or pot to piss in.

Regards Cazzesman

We are Carlton, @#$%&! the week!

Cazz this whole thing comes back to the club itself and its obvious arrogance within its organisation.

They handed the job to Ratten compared to what other would be coaches have had to go through to get a senior AFL gig. We didnt learn from the Pagan fiasco.
The people at the club dont learn from their mistakes and the longer it goes on the harder and longer it takes to get back.

We have to change the personel running the place because they have had too many chances.

I am 49 . In my line of work I have seen people handed jobs through mateship and stupidity and a lack of a thorough process and it normally ends up a recipe for disaster.
You dont have to be directly involved within the club to know something has been wrong for a very looong time. In fact being away from the CFC makes it more obvious.
Agree that we all get a bit nasty at times myself included but that comes through emotion. Emotion from what we all want. The fact is as long Sticks and Ratts are at the club what we want aint going to happen

Problem is no one at the club is taking responsibility. What does ratts say, he believes we still make finals and a win is not too far away. What when, we play north or bulldogs, gold coast. That's weak as piss thinking.

Kernahan, we are sticking fat. Wow wee. Acknowledge that something has to be done.

If people who work for the club love it so much, then they need to fall on swords, and leave. Try something new as the old formula is not working.

I think the point is that where we are this season is not where any of us expected to be.
This is very disappointing & can understand the emotions of some, even if they are getting slightly pointy in their criticisms.

What we need now are cool heads.
The team is not where we want it.
Is it the recruiting?
Is it the development?
Is it the coaching?
Is it the culture?
Is it the players attitudes?
Is it just injuries and bad luck?

Big responsibility for Sticks to sort it out - but also Swann.
Not sure any one move in isolation will fix everything.

Right now Shane Rogers, Cazzesman and the whole team have a massive opportunity to regroup, knuckle down, and find us some gems to bolster the list & get us competitive again.

I'm sure they are all working harder than ever to pull rabbits out of hats, and frankly to me it seems like a job that requires cool heads & dispassionate analysis so I'm glad that Caz & the team are not losing composure & focusing on the big picture.

Keep up the hard work  :thanks:
