Armfield, Judd, Watson, Carazzo, Joseph, Robbo, Gibbs. The rest were awful.
Warnock had ONE hitout direct to a Carlton player in the clear. So did Kreuzer. That's two between them. There is more than winning the tap than just hitting it to an opposition player. Hale had more influence on the game than our two vaunted rucks together.
Matthew Kreuzer is a liability atm and I would trade him in a heartbeat.
Garlett got kicks in the last but wasted all of them.
Betts spoiled Hampson once by going third man up and crashing him. WTF is he doing flying with Hampson.
Walker played his best footy ever, last year deep in the pocket so this year he is running around like a headless chook.
Bootsma was out of his depth tonight but will learn from it. I hope he isn't traumatized.
AJ shut down the delicious Cyril.
Yarran has lost the confidence to run with the footy or he has been told not to. It was his most dangerous weapon last year.
Gibbs did OK tonight but was one of just a few.
Robbo played it out as usual. Nobody could ever accuse him of not having a go.
Hampson needs to take more marks. Simple as that.
Betts went OK.
McLean faded after a good start and will play next week.
Ellard was barely serviceable
Simmo still hasn't learned to play with a tag. He either has to or he is shot. He is a trier but has lost his influence on the game.
Duigan did OK but has probably peaked. Will stay in because he goes OK.
Jamo is a shadow of his former self and is probably out for several weeks.
Zach had an ordinary game but his kicking is good and he should be groomed for a midfield role next year. He, Armfield and Robbo are both hard at it and attack the footy and should join Judd and Murphy in the midfield with Yarran and maybe Betts or Garlett.

I think it's time to put the cue in the rack, make any hard decisions regarding players and coaches and send the injured to the surgeon and the rest to pre-season camp at the Visy Gym. Play anybody we haven't yet decided on and the rest can please themselves. 2013 should start on Monday. We can probably finish about 14-15 which will give us access to a top ten pick to be used on a hard at it medium midfielder from Victoria who barracks for Carlton and has Murphy or Mitchell as his idol.

In past years, this level of performance would have been dealt with pretty ruthlessly by Big Wes and Jack. The current board and MC need to act and they need to act swiftly or 2013 will go the same way as 2012. Except that the club will have about 20,000 members fewer than this year.

POTW

A bit over the top in parts (but only just). Gee, finishing 15th does sound really inviting doesn't it ?

We're back to the days of Denis Pagan...........making basic mistake after mistake. Quite embarrassing to watch.

Not only do we have a lack of leadership, direction, game plan and an interupted season due to injuries - but the vast majority of our players are out of form. There are about 6 or so players that deserve a place in the side (Judd, Robinson - if only all our players played with his passion, Duigan, Carrots, Watson & Armfield) the rest deserve to be dropped. Obviously won't happen - Carlton is like the Aust'n cricket team - harder to get out of it than into it.

I don't really watch or even follow the VFL team - have we got anyone coming through? Anyone at all????

I think I heard somewhere that Collingwood (or was it Geelong?) were going to have their 7th debutant this week. Apart from Bootsma have we had anyone debut? Where are our kids coming through?

This is where I really disagree.

Playing at or near their best I would back Judd, Simpson, Kruezer, Jamison, Yarran, Betts, Gibbs, Scotland, Walker, Carrazzo, Robinson against anyone.

It all seems so logical, which is probably why Ratts & Co. will never do it :screwy:

Who would you play as our key forward then?

Give me a forward 6.

We have noone. T BIrd is the only other option and he is shot.

I doubt they would have played all 3 if henderson was ok or if Waite was fit.

On talent we should definitely be challenging for the top 4 but we're still a flawed side so we're no guarantee for success. They certainly weren't soft in September but they were soft in a lot of games in the lead up which is part of the problem. They still pick and choose when they give 100% and hope that talent alone will see them through.

Challenging the top four in a year with no real standout sides, yes. Sticks and Ratten should have had their day but trying to evaluate our list in this climate will only give you a blurred image at best.

......but these guys don't play at their best very often. The Hawks blokes do. Our guys are flaky. Their guys not so much. So when you put our team next to theirs it is plain to see that they have the better players.

We're pretty putrid to watch at the moment hey. Seriously, cue in the rack, get some games into the young blokes, see if they are worth keeping on the list and come back next year bigger and better for it. EVERYONE WHO IS INJURED GET SURGERY. Stop playing blokes under 99% fit. It's embarrasses them when plodders like Sewell can run around them like witches hats because they are not fit. JUST @#$%&! REST THEM OR PUT THEM IN FOR SURGERY.

For those invested I recommend local footy. They are still allowed to tackle and still have players playing in position and the game generally looks like footy. Beers and hotdogs are cheap. And you'll enjoy yourself a lot more. Vote with your feet.

22 pretty good footballers.
Not one I'd take to war with me.

That's me done. Completely irrespective of the result. I genuinely no longer enjoy going to the footy. Happy to watch from afar/the safe confines of the couch, but tonight just killed it for me. Until the arrival of Rhino Jnr, that's probably the last game I'll bother going to for a while.

Que sera, sera...

Lots of empty seats in members tonight, and I can understand them. I won't go to another game until we make some real changes. No confidence, basic skills errors, always playing from behind, bombing the ball etc etc etc. the team is shot. Probably best if we loose every ga e from now to force change.

Go and watch Lucas this week and you will see why. He is fumbling and kicking poorly and in the wrong spots and looking like he doesnt give a stuff. Watson had problems at reserve level but not like the ones lucas is dealing right now.

But WHY. This shows major problems in the club. The kid could play a year ago.

Each to their own of course, however with that attitude, you obviously would be fine with there being no Blues supporters there next week against the filth? Just imagine that.

Do you think we can lure Hirdy? I'm from Canberra, maybe I can ask him to come home. I don't live far from Ainslie FC's oval. Maybe that will help.

rightly or wrongly, he doesn't give a stuff because he hates playing reserve footy. The guy's got an ego so why not feed it a bit, he CAN play, and he is better than half our list.

That list isn't that impressive. Quality when at or near their best but by no means a step above the top sides and I could count on one hand how many times they've all been fit and in form at the same time.
