I'd like to think we have a chance but we don't. Hawthorn are a super side and will win the flag. I'd love us to win but I don't see how we have a chance. Things have to turn around massively - which is possiible, but unlikely.

I love Carlton. I did from when I was a little boy and nothing's changed. My heart is broken at the moment that we aren't winning, when so much was expected. I suppose that's life.

I can't help think about round 3 2001. I know the next year we won the spoon but that team was crap yet it beat the previous year's premiers convincingly. I think Brett Ratten was captain that night and Fev - in one of his early games - was amazing and straightned them up with a bit of mongrel and flamboyance.

If we have a chance we need to do something different. The players look spent; they need some freshening up. The coach needs to go upstairs and coach from the box, not barrack from the boundary. I think maybe he's too much in their face and they need some breathing space to find their own place.

1945 - End of round 3 Carlton was last.

Last round Carlton made the final four for the first time.

Eventual premiers.

That's what I'm talking about!

Ratts will coach from the box not from boundary line tonight. Not sure why Ratts needs to listen to others. We can beat anyone..but guys with match fitness issues, niggling injuries etc is worrying me the most. The pleasing aspect of all is, we played Geelong and WC in a disjointed manner as lots of guys were trying to regain match fitness. Hope it clicks today and see a team not so disjointed for once in 2 months would be nice.

Nah its a house of horrors.. and we just need to keep opening them doors....

not looking inside the rooms doesnt help.

The scary one is the attic...

Thats the room with the little boy who time stood still for ....25 years.. preserved as he was when he died... his room still meticulously kept the same..

Open the door!!!.. do it!!!

For what its worth

Kreuzer clearly injured
Gibbs too soft
Yarran too soft and doesnt give a !@#$%&
Garlett been shit
Warnock is shit full stop
McLean is shit
I have thrown Mitchell in simply because he is the only proper big key forward on our list that can play
Kerr why would you keep a guy on a list for 2.5 years and not give him a game. Promoting him might bring the best out of him particularly given the Hyde situation
McInness deserves a game on form
So does Dale
Bell havent checked that he is injured or not but would mostly likely provide inside grunt which we desperatley need
Collins based on what he has shown simply deserves a game
I would like Lucas to play as well. Scotland has been ok but he is nearing the end.

Of course this wouldnt happen. But I have stated some reasons why players should be picked and why some shouldnt
The trouble is the MC go to the other extreme and are too conservative.

9 of these players played in a VFL team (emphasis added) that kicked 2.9 last week. God help us.

15 touches and 1 behind in 2011 against AJ
9 touches in 2010 against AJ
16 touches, 2 behinds in 2009 against AJ

What a peculiar statement.

I’m more concerned about what Joseph does with ball in hand, not on an opponent

AJ is also half the player he previously was. I really do hope he does the job, but the jury is out.

I'd rather he @#$%&! up 2-3, rather than let Rioli kick 2-3 on him. Not like AJ is racking them up and turning them all over, like say a Carrazzo or Bentick a few years back..

Any evidence to back this up?

At his best AJ can play good footy and put his opponent off his game.

He hasn't really recovered from the headfcking he received from Milne. You need confidence (a truckload) to play on Cyril because he can get 5 touches and it seems like he wins the game on his own. Particularly with the Channel Cyril providing balanced commentary.

I hope AJ plays well on him and gets an opportunity to hurt Cyril him when we have the ball.

No matter what, I always hope to win and today is no different.
No doubt we are outsiders but I'm still expecting a victory. :smoking:

I want to win too, but for the first time in ... I don't know how long ... I'm tipping against them
this week and next. Happy to be wrong, but there is obviously something wrong with the spirit of
the club at the moment and troubled clubs don't win much.

Wish I knew what the answer was.

Yarran just needs 1.

Garlett just needs 1......... tackle (attempted is fine)

What I'm looking forward to mostly is Carrots earning his nomination. Was stiff to miss out in the first 3 rounds.
