Ratten is now running scared and trying to show he is strong. Too late but he is desperate.

The scariest thing for Ratten is that he will go from $500k a year to $50k for coaching a local EFL side.

I'm not doubting Ockham Razor's info but Barrett repeating it isn't really confirmation. He probably lifted it from here in the first place.

In all fairness there wasn't much detail and a quick chat but he basically said he is very unpopular amongst staff and players.

Made a comment about the great job of getting Brock McLean. I assume this was done initially without Ickes knowledge.

I know for a fact that several senior players cannot stand him and this has gone on for a while and is now getting worse.

Are you serious? If that happened then Ratten is out of control.
Maybe Hyde stole his lollies.

This is just getting worse, the worrying thing is we have so many players coming out of contract and important players such as Warnock and Yarran yet to re-sign. If the place is becoming a basketcase then some might just leave.

I know and he can alienate people but the facts are adding up!

My gut feeling is that someone leaked this to Barrett to run with it. There aren't a lot of stories of his re: Carlton, but when he does them, they're usually well above his usual paltry strike rate.

Question is - to discredit Cordy or to discredit Ratten? I didn't watch the show, so not sure how it was spun...any help on this front?

Not sure who he was trying to discredit, but the story started with more bad news for Carlton.

Barrett is a flog but he's good at what he does. He knows the tide is turning at Carlton and many supporters are calling for Rattens head (im not one of them). He's going to add whatever fuel he can to the fire because it's only going to turn more supporters against him and in the end it will probably cost Ratten his job. Sadly there is only so much negative attention directed at the coach that the board will take and they're out to get him.

Whether he and Cordy had a dispute or not at the end of the day as long as they act like professionals there shouldn't be an issue at all. There at disputes in every workplace at times.

And to add to this, a long serving well respected trainer at the club has also had a falling out with Ratts earlier this year. Senior players are not happy with Ratts especially Gibbs. Also mentioned MM at the club next year is almost a certainty. The drums are beating louder and louder!

I've heard that Cordy is pretty ace.

You can also add Waite, Walker, Simpson and Murphy to that list.
Plus a few others that i'm not 100% sure of so i won't name them

His recently re-signed contract says differently.
