Quote:
Champion Data figures show Eddie Betts is the player Carlton looks to most when its players deliver into forward-50, but at 173 centimetres, he and St Kilda's Stephen Milne (176 centimetres) are the only players in the league's list of top 30 targets that would not be considered key forwards.

You saying I'm wrong?

You really think Waite, hampson, walker, Betts, garlett, kruzer sounds like a premiership forward line? All teams do when you play Carlton is flood the forward line and we struggle to take a mark inside.. when Eddie Betts is our leading target in the fwd line then you can't dispute the fact :)

But sack the board, the coach and even the people that makes the banners to fix the club. That would be your dream synbad hey

Hey cimm, I am exactly the same. Went to the 79 GF with my dad and I can remember so much of it. The day, the atmosphere the Collingwood people I was surrounded by and the match itself. The next 5 or 6 years I struggle with. I went the GFs too, but can't really remember them apart from a nude woman which was good as an adolescent!

Actually, nude women may have something to do with my failing memory also.

Heard Ratt's presser this morning. They seem to follow a similar path , Ratt's get's asked a question, Ratt's get's his dander up and tries to be tricky with poorly disguised sarcasm. The difference today was he realised (a little too late) that the assertion that we need a power forward came from our greatest ever player and a premiership coach.

Tried to change tack and say Waite is our power forward  and he's out.

He may or may not be a good coach but he's coming across as a grumpy and sullen.

So you haven't seen enough of Henderson, Mitchell, Rowe and Casboult.

I'll give you Henderson.

The others are a stretch.

The Fev train has gone.
Left the station.
Southern Cross Platform 25 express to Narre Warren.

Left 10 mins late - typical Connex.

But it's gone.
G-o-n-e.

If you want to SAKC the Sakcers that sakced Fev, then SAKC Sticks & the board.
But that's a whole other thread ...

Jezza was and always will be my favourite Carlton player

Without letting my man-love get in the way too much, I think he is right. As he said we don't need a Fev but rather a Sticks (though not as Prez) i.e. someone who can grab hold of a hail-mary and kick a goal to steady the ship when things are not going right.

If Waite (or any other of our tall recruits) could stay out of the medical room then maybe the situation would no be so bad but I think we have to forget about Waite as a KPP and build the forward line around Hendo plus Mr X marking forward.

The midfield is good when the oppostion have to cover both Smurph and Judd but the last 9 weeks have shown it doesn't bat particularly deep.

What I wouldn't give for a chunk of that '79 mosquito fleet right now. Johnno, Buckley, Sheldon, Harmes, Ashman - all of them had skill and none of them took any sh*t - abit different from our current crew.

They didn't take any shit and Buckley and Johnston gave as good as they got, and they all stood a bit taller with Maclure, Doull, Jezza, Fitzy looking after them, we don't have anybody of that ilk running around looking after our blokes and unfortunately we are going to see this again thus Friday when Hawthorn bully us again as per usual as we pull out our bike clips again. m

And that actually in a nutshell is what a large part of our on field problem of today is - the meekness of our playing group, and even though they are having a hell of a time they aren't about to get anything any time soon. .m

I was referring to who Ratts mentioned in the press - warnock, kruezer and hampson. All of which need substantial improvement in marking technique
