Play Judd in the forward pocket all game, we're not getting much out of him in the middle anyway.

Sounds like:

Out: Joseph, Collins, McLean/Ellard, Garlett

In: Hampson, Waite, Laidler, Lucas

Lucas, Walker & Waite forward, Robinson into more of a midfield role, Yarran & Tuohy can lock down more if needed and our frontal pressure is more or less restored despite the loss of a little speed in Jeff. Ellard has been ok in patches, but I would say Brock manages to do more through the four quarters. Not sure how long we should be carrying the three ruck system to be honest, but Kreuzer needs to freshen up and be able to leap to be a successful ruckman.

Hey all. :)

Hiya Big J.!
Keep McLean.
Would trade Hampson for a good forward anyday.
Freshen up Juddy with time out.
Special K. has a knee problem,so maybe give him time out too while we still have Handsome.
Walker....Forward ho!!!!! ffs. grrr. stuff the wing role. Forward! geez.
Lucas in for sure.
Laidler will help a lot.
Waite..I see him as a bonus only, and not a regular we should count on.

A novel idea would be not to play blokes who are injured or out of form. Judd, Kreuzer and Yarran we know now are playing injured, there were concerns, according to the coach, about Warnock's fitness, not to mention playing out of form blokes like Garlett and Joseph. Our MC really suck. We already have enough blokes as it is playing who missed some pre-season and are struggling. That on top of blokes who are already out. This on top of going the wrong way with our strength and conditioning work lightening our blokes off rather than bulking them and it shows.

Bloody miracle we can get within 12 and 10 pts of top sides, especially the latter when travelling.

We have stuffed up big time this year and the fact we showed so much promise at round 3 makes it worse.

We may well and truly get pumped by the Hawks. Etihad, a team who plays hard contested footy versus a team that doesn't plus no desire to win... plus you could say a terrible coach.

Head says Hawthorn by 5 goals minimum.

Wish this was not so.

Is Laidler due back for this one?

by the way I see this with the players and the coaching and preparation we have put into them because every week its the same!
every week we discuss what happened so I comment on what I see.

don't blame the messenger camelboy !

its why we are losing and underrepresented in the professional team stakes.

as we comment about the week by week scenarios I comment on the underlying problems we show week to week.

or scrap the forum!

I'm a broken record because the record is broken.

show me a well prepared team and I'll fall off commenting about the coaching week to week on the reviews of what went down.

Give me the stat that shows Mclean doesn't put his team mates under pressure with his disposal and I would consider keeping him. Otherwise, he goes. How many winning sides has Mclean played in?

I would say in amongst the chaos he has been pretty clean with the ball, basically moving it on as soon as he gets it. I can see a flicker of the leg drive he once had, but I'm not sure his career will last long enough for it to be restored.

And if you can't see Yarran suffering the same problems right now, I don't know what game you're watching.

Right now, yes I do. It was a tongue in cheek comment. ;)

It's not been a good couple of months for Ratts.

Every time I think he has silenced the critics he finds a way to undo the faith he has restored. Now, I spend more time thinking what we could have already achieved if things were different...

Maybe not a lot more in terms of quantifiable results, but in terms of having better prepared/educated footballers run out each week, well, I think we're behind the 8 ball.

Which sucks.

McLean has had some positive impact recently, but he still fails to read the play and switch to the defensive mindset quickly enough. Sometimes he looks like a school kid watching the play unfold rather than getting involved.

He can fill the gap for Murph now, but we won't ever win a final with Brock in the side, IMO.
