I reckon it was Joseph's clanger in the last that turned the game.
The guy has no composure and terrible skills.......ALWAYS coughs the ball up under pressure. Bloody always does!

Anyway I can see a few positives from tonight considering it was our 3rd consecutive 6 day turnaround, Yarran and Kreuzer not 100% and of course Murphy still to come back into the side.

if Judd hadnt dropped it the ball would have gone forward and Joseph wouldnt have done that stupid kick
Mind you Jamo shouldnt have dropped it either

@#$%&! over it. We lost to West Coast by 10 points in 2006 so what! @#$%&! honourable losses they got us nowhere then and will get us nowhere now. Ridiculous decision to play guys like Joseph who year after year make the same [REDACTED] up decisions and swing momentum against you.

Too angry for many words, understandably.

We're moving in the right direction, after the bye we should have it together enough to beat the Hawks, I'm convinced.

Watson best game in the navy blue, Duigan as good as he's ever been, Carrots a monster second half once he got some confidence, in two weeks he'll be back to his best no doubt.

Hardest footy we'ver played all year, that third quarter for frenetic, tackling rage was as good as I've seen.

Does anyone have an address and a person I can write to at the AFL? I'm just one person but something needs to be done and if everyone who has completely lost faith in the AFL did the same, maybe there'll be an investigation. Players and coaches get gagged with the threat of fines under the guise of 'bringing the game into disrepute,' but who's there to "police the police," so to speak? The AFL are ruining their own game, for everyone.

Cannot fault the endeavour tonight. Hawks game we'll have it all sorted out. Season not over if we continue playing like that, every game is up for grabs.

:thanks: some sanity at last.

but, when were second to the ball we tackle, they either just drop it or throw it away and its play on, that's the frustrating part.

David Teague just asked asked how he was enjoying his coaching.

"Loving it. It's really great to work under a great coach like John Worsfold and work for such a professional organisation"

Stick's talking at the Hall of Fame Dinner.

"Yeah looking forward to getting into the bar with the boys later"

There's the difference.

Eagles are going to be very happy with this ... they won but they can play better than that.

We have a WOEFUL football department if we can

(a) recruit Aaron Joseph

(b) keep selecting Aaron Joseph

The irony is that it is not the fact that we identify Aaron Joseph as someone worth recruiting and that we play him but the fact that we put ourselves in the position in which we think we have no choice in the first place.

These players look like astute judgements when they first start getting games. It's the dark-side of trying to fast-track premierships.

Its 4 players against 4. No excuses for being beaten so comprehensively in that situation.

We need some big changes to our set play coaching and quick.

Good post. Our "a" grade players have no defensive side to their game. Judd and gibbs in particular.

We have average players, simple.

WTF is going on? Honourable losses are destroying us now, season is all over IMO.

The break couldn't come quick enough, what is it now? 5 out of 6 losses? Un @#$%&! believable

Guttered with that. Absolutely guttered. What the hell do we stand for as a football club when we just go to water in the last quarter when our season is on the line?
And all I hear is excuse after excuse again.
It's going to be a long way back...

When your inspirational skipper drops a sitter with a shot on goal beckoning, it kinda runs through the whole team.

Make no mistake, that was the turning point in the last.

A bit deflated after such a good fightback in the 3rd quarter.

I understand and agree that we shouldn't be happy with an honourable loss, but really, that's all we have after the last couple of months. Just hope we come back from the break fired up.

The optimist in me thinks if we can get into the eight with some good form and fitness that we could cause some havoc. The realist just sighs and thinks what a wasted year.

:|

either could be right. both realistic at his point. :-)

At least the boys had a dip from halfway through the second.

I'm not a fan of sooking about the umpires but they get a seriously good run. If they were a Melbourne side the media would be running footage of Darling throwing his head back and Hams short stepping it on high rotation.

Maybe the AFL need to consider neutral umpires, ICC style. They are basically a separate country over there so treat them as such. It's not like they don't have the cash to fly eastern states umpires across.
