Also, after a very shaky start to the year, Duigan is working himself back into form which is great.

Touhy
Army
Hendo
Robbo

All good.

WCE show how much more we need from our rucks around the ground. Warnock going forward isn't particularly intimidating. 2 touches around the ground.

Disappointed with Garlett, Yarran, AJ, McLean

Happy with Carrots, Simmo, 2E, walker in patches, scotland in patches, & watson.

Lots of fumbling, missed handballs and when was the last time we kicked it low to a forward on a lead running toward the kicker (as opposed to a high bomb to eddie in a pocket...)

I can cut judd some slack after his contribution to CFC so far.

First time I have submitted a comment. Talk about biased umpiring. Forward structure woeful, Just bomb it in and hope...great tactics by Ratten and the coaching staff. Gartlett ready for the 2's, surely Lucas has to be better than Joseph, doesn't he think? Many others down. Got killed by Cox & Natanui around the ground. Disappointing to say the least.

Tough to watch.
First quarter and a half very poor structures and even poorer attitudes. Our kickouts made GWS look like potential premiers.
Though Duigan was good.Carrots very good after such a long absence.
Watson showed enough. Zac good in patches.

Terrible game by Scotland. His possession count looks impressive but he butchered it time after time.
AJ always tries but not up to the level.Judd had a bad night but he has plenty of credit in the bank.Simmo starting to
ski downhill of late.
Warnock again gave us nothing.A massive total of 2 possessions. No influence at all.
At least Kruz tries.

All in all, things not going well at Carlton.I am just about on the sack Ratten train after tonight. The first half was simply not good enough.

Carrots and Scottland were great!!! as was Duigan!!! showed alot of leadership down back and was the most active player in the Navy blue for most of the night!

Watto will be great, glad he is getting some games.

You cant sit there and tell me the umpires had no part in that!! Fkn cksmokers!!!

Even still, the game was there to be won.

I defended garlett till now, but he needs to be dropped even after the bye. Same goes for joseph.

Gibbs had an average (looking at moshe) game. About time his socks were down!! Needs to work on his defensive side though.

The subbing off of either garlett or joseph hadmto be done at 3qtr time fkt that up bg time.

Just gutted!

don't anyone blame the umpires ... blame our second to the ball ... blame our playing from behind ... blame our insipid rucks who show no presence ... blame our dropped chest marks ... blame our poor kicking ... blame our lack of hard running ... blame our lack of footy smarts.

Eagles are going to be very happy with this ... they won but they can play better than that.

We have a WOEFUL football department if we can

(a) recruit Aaron Joseph

(b) keep selecting Aaron Joseph

but at some stage the umpires have to be held accountable for their decisions

by the afl by the media and by the football clubs atm it is glossed over

it cost us badly last year in the final and its cost us the season tonight. and it doesnt even out when they come here do we get 4 or 5 goals from free kicks dont think so

Ump Margets will surely get 2 votes behind Nic Nat come brownlow night. Absolute comedy some decisions with all the consistency of a bad gravy.

We still have a few blokes letting us down but some better signs were on show tonite. Carrots and Scotto both showed they were missed, Watto is coming along, he's slow but he has plenty of upside in other areas. We'll be better once we sort out the bottom 4 positions in the team.

Great post Ernie

Any glass half full types who think we're on the right track are way off the mark. We played a very badly out of sorts Geel side and somehow lost and then a WC side riddled by injury and blew it again. In the first half we were 2nd to the ball all the time (we actually waited for them to get it and then tackled them - they duck and there's the free, deserved or not). If they'd taken their chances we're 7 goals down at the break.

Why not just have a flowering crack from the first bounce ???

Melb beat the Dees doing it, whay can't the CFC get some bruises and have a crack ?

The buck must stop with Ratten, and probably needs to extend to Sticks if he isn't man enough to sack his mate.

Judd dropped mark turned the game

I reckon it was Joseph's clanger in the last that turned the game.
The guy has no composure and terrible skills.......ALWAYS coughs the ball up under pressure. Bloody always does!

Anyway I can see a few positives from tonight considering it was our 3rd consecutive 6 day turnaround, Yarran and Kreuzer not 100% and of course Murphy still to come back into the side.

Brock Mclean was very ordinary. Fumbled and handballed to players under pressure.

We will have slipped to 11 th on the ladder after our bye
Kiss top 4 good bye and maybe the top 8
Settle for hard fought losses now like Richmond

Smashed out of the middle and poor on defending the kickouts. Both set play situations that rely on structures. How many times did you see Carlton stream out of the middle tonight with the ball compared to west Coast?
Its 4 players against 4. No excuses for being beaten so comprehensively in that situation.

We need some big changes to our set play coaching and quick.

A bit deflated after such a good fightback in the 3rd quarter.

I understand and agree that we shouldn't be happy with an honourable loss, but really, that's all we have after the last couple of months. Just hope we come back from the break fired up.

The optimist in me thinks if we can get into the eight with some good form and fitness that we could cause some havoc. The realist just sighs and thinks what a wasted year.

Honourable loss be buggered! Two junk time last quarter goals flatter the final score; we were thrashed for two and a half quarters and lost by ten scoring shots.

I really, really hope Judd is playing injured, otherwise the way he's playing he's had a gut full. Couldn't stick a tackle, ordinary kicking, dropped a crucial mark, gave away a fifty. And yes, he should have been dragged, didn't send a good message to the playing group.

AJ, Yarran and Garlett to the twos. Lucas needs to be given a decent run at it, being in and out is doing him no favours, we need to know if he's up to it, he's got the ability.
