Ratten: "Hopefully, if all goes to plan, Carrazzo and Scotland will both play."
Carrazzo has been in full training for the last couple of weeks. Heath's injury was less severe than we initially thought.
Injuries to the taller blokes have hurt us more than the loss of our mids. We thought blokes like Casboult and Rowe would play this year.
Robbie Warnock is flying over.
I think the Eagles will have a few ins but it won't change how they play. They're a great team but we're ready for them.
We'll just wait and see with the weather. They're predicting rain on Thursday, but that might change.
The boys are getting some time off for the bye. It's up to them what they do.
I think the focus on Chris Judd is a bit tough. His will to take on challenges is always there.

Was Scotland rested?

I've strained a calf before and it means basically can't do anything other than walk for a couple of weeks. Running completely out of the question.

torrential rain all weekend, another damaging storm meant to hit tonight, still raining today - and forecast to go through until thursday

Yes but with a bit of luck the gale force winds might blow a few of our wayward shots back on target. I expect our goal kicking to improve...

I reckon Hampson could use a bit of Gale force at the moment.

MC will regret that decision.

Now I've list all faith in the MC.
Laidlaw will ask for a trade for sure. Yet another thing Ratts has stuffed up.

So we played Friday night and are travelling Tuesday - bloody hell that is a quick turn around!

And why would we have 48+ hours interstate before playing - do we always travel that early? I thought we usually flew in, trained had one night, played, flew home?

Split group as of this year.

Players have the choice to fly up early, others, such as those with kids, tend to fly up a day later.

Stuff these flowers!

I say we can win this one and start clawing our way back up the ladder!

In 2-3 weeks time hopefully we'll have all of Waite / Carrazzo / Scotland and Laidler back and we have only Murphy to cover!

Sick and tired of being the joke of the AFL!

If we have a forward structure that doesn't involve Betts as the tall forward and us leading to the pockets we are in with a good chance.
We need to be direct and stop focusing on the boundary line form of attack.
Direct run, long and deep.
Betts and the others gave themselves the best chance of scoring when they used the tall's as marking forwards and they crumbed the opportunistic goals.
What I would really like to see is that when we have the ball in defence we can look up and find a target or option immediately further afield without the ball carrier having to wait for a option to become available, or from the mids and forwards to revert back to attacking options and links.

Will probably end up a slog like their game against the Hawks earlier this year....
Cam see the duckers having a field day in the wet conditions...
The game will probably be decided by a few gift goals they get from dodgy umpiring decisions...
We havent had the rub of the green this year...

Don't know about it being a giant slip n slide Thursday.

The last few days has been old school Perth weather. Pisses down for 5-10 minutes then a break for 30 minutes to a few hours.

Subi drains like beach sand so it's entirely likely it won't be that wet at all.

But it's been blowing like mad for 3 days, very gusty swirly winds, if that continues Subi is a tricky oval to play. Cigar shaped means that , when kicking into the breeze, you MUST kick low, hard and accurate or run the ball (probably our best bet) because the press will be tight as buggery. When kicking with it just get it in the 50m arc anyway you can, uglier the better.

You HAVE to win the centre clearances against the wind, coz if it get's in the 50m arc and you are kicking against it, good luck.
