Coaches should instruct players to kick goals, not points.

Fair dinkum, you blokes can't see past one single factor, everything has to relate back to the coack.

If we kicked 7.4 instead of 2.9 we win the game, but instead you have to try to tie everything back to the coach so you can come back here each week and act like you know more than the coach.

!@#$%& me!

a team with a proper forward structure may have kicked 7.4

we kick it to the pocket, or have nobody to kick to at all

I would have let that go Dirko.

So we have gone from top 4 and a preliminary final at a minimum to the result is inconsequential as long as play the kids...

So just to clarify, r we now back to the rebuilding stage?...if so it's definitely time for big changes...

Not rebuilding but developing that critical next tier/depth.

You saw some of it.

Why do you say that SB? He provided a target up there, and he generally makes pretty good decisions once he has the ball.

forwards need to kick goals thats why

Wrong. We kicked it to forwards who didn't lead or couldn't mark when they did.

And when we opted to go for goal instead we missed

And when we did mark in f50 we missed

More misses than your mrs!

Broken record. Poor conversion, heard it all before, same shit different story, maybe its an inability of players to kick, or even where we have how shots from on the boundary?

We had more inside 50s, more clearances.

Maybe the poor conversion stems from having so many shots from on the @#$%&! boundary line.

Who leads to the boundary all the time?

Who keeps kicking to the player leading to the boundary line?

Old habits....

Does that mean you're happy with the coaching tonight?

I've always caned Waite for leading into the pockets/boundary..its obviously a team order. No wonder our goal kicking is atrocious

Thought we were on top in the first and should have lead by more.
3rd quarter we started very well.Walker selfish a few times.Collins a little untidy with his forward 50 entries. Jeffy had to kick the goal just before 3 quarter time.Thought they started to get on top when Warnock went off.

Overall effort was good. Back line played well with the exception of a few AJ brain farts .Harry Taylor going forward for them in the last was a big win.Not sure who was picking him up but he ended up with 8 marks.
Yarran in the forward 50 for the last quarter instead of providing run from the back.Interesting.Had he kicked the 2 goals we may have thought it a master stroke. In particular the poster at the start of the 4th...other end, goal.

Thought Duigan and Hendo played well on return. Kruz out on his feet late.Zac showed good signs again. The 2 young boys good.Brocks first half also good but faded late.
Would have liked to see more damage from Judd and Robbo.Robbo is all crash and bash.Simmo high possession earner but again i didnt feel he hurt the opposition.A little out of sorts with his hands tonight.

A lot of positives to take out of the match. Not a win, but it should have been.Something to build on, in particular if we can get another one or two players back.

Umpiring just about the worst I have seen this year and that's saying something.

the problem with hampson is people keep kicking to him like he's betts. its either at his feet or 10 feet over his head. The guy isnt batman. He CAN lead, and hes not a bad kick. He can mark, but people are expecting the impossible of him too. He IS making a contest of everything he generally gets to.
