Well Synners will be pleased, a win would have wrecked his week.

Wasted opportunity in a game we so badly needed to win. So much dominance at times for so little reward.

So wasteful and blew a perfect opportunity to win that game.

Happy with the improved effort, but just so disgusted with the drop off in skill, stupid decision making but most importantly terrible structures at the stoppages and coaching in general.

Should feel disappointed but instead feel numb because the inevitable happened. Can't really see us getting out of this hole until we get more players back and a few easier games.

I really hate AFL at the moment.

Well, they had a crack and that's what I got out of bed at 4:00 to see.
They could have won. 2-9 in the last with the three Geelong goals from the kickouts. That's three 11 point turnovers in one quarter and the end margin.
It has been a problem of ours for several years, kicking points from set shots. 5 posters didn't help but there were some absolute sitters missed. Garlett from less than ten metres out set the tone and if his job is to kick goals, he must be in trouble. I love his run and tackling but it must piss the backs and mids off to see the forwards wasting their efforts.

It has been mentioned here several hunderd times but the forwards don't give themselves much chance when they lead to the pockets and I am sick of watching Hampson, Kreuzer and Henderson watching on while the mids pass to Eddie. OK, he is a goalkicker but if his job is to be the leading forward while the CHF just provides a decoy, there is something amiss. It is getting too obvious apart from everything else.

I hate losing and this loss was a waste of a big effort. Having said that, we know they can come out to play so they have to do it week in and out.

Well done to Bootsma and Watson, both of whom will gain a lot from their efforts tonight. Neither of them was disgraced against more experienced opponents.

Seems eloquent enough.

Probably 1 key forward away from being top 3.
Bootsma great. Watson slow but liked his output. Collins I liked a lot.

Hampson no good and looked like a total spaz at times. Shame Warnock went down he's a much better player.

Looking back over the game we lacked polish - there were lots of easy marks dropped - in particular inside 50 at critical moments in the game.

Some poor decisions by players who are inexperienced - Watson kicking out on full when he could have walked it over. He was pretty good tonight.

Kreuzer not realising the umpire had called play on - this is unbelievable....there are some basics players learn when they are around 5-15 years old....listen to the umpire. I cannot believe that Kreuzer (whether the call was right or wrong from McBurney) just stood there and did nothing. These are the one percenters you need to do!!!! Actually they aren't even one percenters, they are @#$%&! basics....you don't need to be talented to do them. It happens so often...you see it when the umpire calls play on because the kick wasn't 15m....everyone stops. @#$%&! LISTEN!!!! Cost us a shot on goal.

Poor composure - Walker ran very hard tonight but what he @#$%&! was he doing kicking out on the full when he had players to compete at the top of the square? He didn't even give them a @#$%&! chance! Selfish play.

Hendo is wasted up forward
Hammer is a waste of space up forward

The entire team cant kick

I would offer Two of walker Garlett betts or Yarran to the highest bidders

What's the thoughts on John Barker. I believe given the flick from St kilda and then Hawthorn as there forward line coach. Is it his role at Carlton or does Ratts oversee it. I thought the effort was there from players tonight but something is still very amiss. Geelong no where near the team they were in previous years.

Why do you say that SB? He provided a target up there, and he generally makes pretty good decisions once he has the ball.

I'd keep them all, Walker should be forward though, Garlett dropped at present, Yarran is either injured or the coaches aren't happy with him?

Quite a few positives for mine:

- Watson and Bootsma look the goods.
- McLean should be a regular from now on.
- Our structure looks much better with Hendo at CHF. We should leave him there from now on and keep Watson at CHB.

With a bit more luck we might have won.......5 posters makes it tough.

Not sure I'm keen on Hampson spending so much time at FF......pinch hit up there only.
Joseph tries hard but gee I'd much rather Lucas in the side.
Hopefully Yarran starts the match next week.

No complaint with effort, nothing changes from what I've said this week, structure was there but not utlised as Effes said. That's a coaching problem.

Coaches should instruct players to kick goals, not points.

Fair dinkum, you blokes can't see past one single factor, everything has to relate back to the coack.

If we kicked 7.4 instead of 2.9 we win the game, but instead you have to try to tie everything back to the coach so you can come back here each week and act like you know more than the coach.

@#$%&! me!

The result is inconsequential.

So we have gone from top 4 and a preliminary final at a minimum to the result is inconsequential as long as play the kids...

So just to clarify, r we now back to the rebuilding stage?...if so it's definitely time for big changes...

Pity we don't have a spare Murphy in the cupboard.

We were sloppy by hand, by foot, in the mind and in the tackle ... and we are like that very often

we have smalls that are slow and can't kick

we have talls that can't mark

Time to not lose our cool and remember this season is finished as far as a flag threat. All that matters is seeing who can make a difference next year. Based on tonight, at least 3 younger ones will and Brock too.

And welcome back to football Mr Gibbs. Solid game.

Simpson a standout.

If its good enough for Ratts to say we aren't aiming top 4 now, it's fair enough for supporters to request playing kids IMO.
