Just flower dig in Blues!!! :fight: :fight:

I reckon Murray Vance is a chance to get called up this week.

Isn't it an interesting fact that it was Murray Vance's last game with us? He had only ever played in 4 others prior to that!

5 games from a No. 6 draft pick and delisted at 21.... I can't remember much of him, but he must have been a hack?!

Still only 32yo, so might be worth a run in this game?

Would slot in on a Half back flank

Wow, looking at that side remembering Ratten, Hickmott and McKay didn't have long to go, and Fevola was still a couple of years away from being a regular, it's now explains how 2002 happened. (although those without my rose coloured glasses were trying to tell me at the time!).

But, as CK brought up, they had a crack that night and that's all we are asking for Friday. Structures, roles, coaches, presidents, game plans, body sizes etc cant be dealt with in a week, but effort can.

Just on that I was only thinking today about how - barring Waite in the first minutes of Round 1 - I cant remember one incident this year where I've thought we might be in trouble with the MRP. Now I'm not one of those old school "just start a bloody fight" kind of guys, but if you look through the weeks cases we now know that's it not necessarily thugs that get suspended, or at the very least have incidents looked at.

I dont remember one dubious tackle, not one accidental head high which these day can come about from not necessarily being undisciplined, but merely in a lot of cases just going in too hard.

Much was made about how we didn't fly the flag for Carrots in Rnd 4, or how we've had the likes of Milne and Ryder try and push us around, but I'm not sure if a push and shove is going to get you anywhere.

Would just love to see the guys crack in hard, even play on the edge, and just see what happens.

Might not get anywhere, but at least show you care and are hurting because the words are really starting to wear thin.

My preferred stoppage team for this week.

Judd, McLean, Ellard, Robbo, Touhy, AJ, Duigan.

I like it but geez it'd struggle on the spread. AJ burns it better than an arsonist, Touhy great kicking but zilch midfield experience, Judd is just too heavily tagged and has lost the after burners.

But unfortunately we haven't much else in the way of options. Could run through the four indigenous fellas but only Walks has the tank and it'd be a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul otherwise.

What did Synbad say about drafting midfielders again....

The good thin about the above is the grunt. Let the runners provide the spread. Those blokes are running around the midfield more or less anyway except for Touhy and he runs forward a fair bit. AJ will be assigned someone.
I'd love Betts and co providing cameos there as well.. Simmo and co can provide outside run although he has been tagged out of every game for weeks. He has to learn to run them off their feet or learn to use blocks to get free.

Whatever we do, we have to do SOMETHING.

Dont think. DO! Do SOMETHING. Don't do nothing. (J. Kennedy Sr.)

Amazingly, I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

I don't recall anyone other than Waite even being mentioned in a MRP review.

I'm not one to advocate anything outside the laws but surely greater ferocity is required.

Tom Hawkins, Joel Corey and Steven Motlop look certain to return. Corey Enright and David Wojcinski also a chance.

What has Duigan done to date to suggest he'd have an idea at the stoppages BS?

A lot of talk this week about throwing Judd down to play the flanks,............

I'm not totally against this. He know's the play well and (still) has the speed to burn through. It'd be worth a shot.

Play McLean, Robbo and Thouey in the mids (cause they're the three players willing to put their bodies on the line).

Put his body into play. He isn't flashy but he is hard at it and steady as she goes. I would like a grunt-oriented stoppage team in the midfield this week so that we won't get pushed off the ball like we have been for weeks.

Hope we line up like this if Henderson and Duigan get up for the game. Wouldn't rush Kreuzer back against their ruck division which isn't the best around. Austin did the job on Pods last week. Hopefully Watson can do similar. :sly:

B: Duigan Jamison Tuohy
HB: Yarran Watson Bower
C: Simpson Mclean Gibbs
HF: Collins Henderson Bootsma
F: Betts Hampson Walker
R: Warnock Judd Ellard

I/C: Robinson Armfield Lucas Sub: Joseph/Curnow

Bootsma to play forward and try to shut Mackie or one of their rebounders down. More footy smarts than Bower. I don't want Boots to be shattered by being asked to play on Steve Johnson. :yikes:
