interestingly, the last 5 sides to have played GWS have lost the next week. The talk of resting players and playing GWS seems to take the eye off the ball maybe that carries over.

Not sure how James Kelly is playing this week after his head high contact on Toby Greene last Saturday.

Jeffy for a rest.

Pressure acts are great, but sometimes a kick or a mark can really help.

Jeffie must of pressured himself, they were under 10 this week with 1 possession in the second half. Smokin!

Starting guts of Warnock, army, Tuohy and Judd!
Give Tuohy a 4 quarter run through the guts, he is tough, and will always put his head over the ball.
Lay some hard body at the ball, just body line the ball.

I am as passionate as it comes about this club and will be there every week regardless of how we are traveling. All I ask for my shitloads of thousands of dollars and countless thousand hours watching training, practice matches, Vfl matches, press conferences, Tac cup etc etc etc IS BLOODY EFFORT!
Show some flowering ticker boys!
It absolutely broke my heart on Saturday sitting down to watch the cats v GWS game, and despite having a massively inferior list and much smaller bodies and NIL experience, the GWS boys were competitive through sheer hard work and will to help each other out..... We lack that
They showed that injuries are a bullshite excuse
Nothing excuses lack of effort.
Work to get to the contest, stand up and work to get to the next one, get up and lay a tackle then lay a shepheard, and then stand up and clap your hands and pat the boys on the ass and say something, gee each other up. SOMETHING. ANYTHING.
Kick a goal and F&@$ the crowd, get to your mate who just busted his ring to get the ball to you. Now is not the time for showboating, orange boots or 'me' time.

All of you pea hearts grab a pair of black boots, your navy jumper and give a shit!
SHOW US IT MEANS SOMETHING TO YOU, because it sure as hell means something to me

And how about we run no tags this week. We are accountable as a team
Play our style, let the kids learn our style
Tagging has got us nowhere in the last 4 weeks
Enough!

I actually would like us to go back to what we do best.
Forget about the minor changes and bullshit talk over the past few weeks.
Get back to playing the way we play and make the opposition come to us.
If they want to throw extra men in the middle, back or forward - fine - match up on these guys and run off them as well.
No tagging just 18 vs 18 all over the ground and use our pace, run and talent to break the game open where and when we can.
Support each other, shepherd for each other, tackle - pressure and run hard both ways.
Footy is an easy game if your willing to do the 1% things and help your teamates at every contest.

Just before the game - show this group highlights of the Collingwood game.
Make them believe that what they did then is still inside them and no reason for it not to be done again.
Get some bloody belief and just do!

Geelong will get a few back this week. Speaking of which I think we learnt a lesson for next time in how to avoid media scrutiny if we decide to rest players against GWS .

Firstly, dont telegraph it weeks ahead. Secondly put 1 player in for a minor op, and thirdly pull three out on game day (Motlop, Corey and Enright), by the time anyone realises or gives a stuff it becomes old news due to Buddy's 13, Nth down by 115, Blues getting thumped, Ratten under pressure, Brisbane beating WC, Pendlebury injured, Melbourne winning, MRP results etc

Agree Surrey, I've had enough as well. Got the venting out the system, by around Wednesday/Thursday, I'll probably be convincing myself that we can still make the Top 4 and that Geelong are no good, and have beaten no-one above them!

Looking forward to (once again) seeing the response.

We will come out firing this week. I like Surreys idea of making them come to us. Our big problem over the last few weeks is that the opposition has forced us to play thier way. Time to take the initative. We need to run all day and swamp thier ball carrier and then execute rapid ball movement into forward to targets not bombing in.

We can and will win this.

Problem with this is that half the people in the video wouldn't be in the rooms. They're injured.
The rest of the post makes sense.

If you want to play tough, you have to catch us first.

BTW, Hammer should have learned something from that hit away from the pack last week that put us straight into space. While all their holding and blocking was happening inside, the footy was twenty metres away and treveling fast towards the goal. Warnock and Kreuzer too. Problem is, I think only two of those three will play and Hammer will go, even tough he is the least deserving to be dropped.

One way or another there is a need to try to fire the team up.

I recently found my footy record of June 14 1976 when Carlton lost to Footscray at Western Oval. Jimmy Buckley's first game aged 16. He didn't get killed. My record shows he kicked a point.

Seriously what would be lost by playing one or more of Mitchell, Dale or Kerr, or even young Buckley and seeing how they go? Maybe not all of them but at least one or two while we are at the point where we have to do a mini re-build in personnel, structures and team energy. We should get three or four experienced players back against West Coast, with several more close to returning after the bye.

I thought Tuohy had a real crack against Port and looks to be coming into form. Would really like to see him playing as a lead up forward flanker.

Like the idea of Judd on a half back flank. Betts more time in the middle for stoppages.

My preference would be to roll the dice and play Mitchell if the club are confident that he'd survive the game ok.

He'll learn the caper faster with an AFL game under his belt.

Winning the 1%ers?? Pffft. Like to see us winning the other 99%ers first.

The season is gone. No point finishing 7th or 8th.

Play young players, cop the losses, get a top 10 pick, reload for next year.

What about we play our player where they belong.

Last week we started McLean and Bower in the forward line.

Walker who was our best forward last year was on a wing I think. Our forward line is on of the worst going around atm.

Oh and some alround effort would be nice.

Not sure on the reference to Richmond.

Not asking to sack everyone either.

It's just the way it is, if there's no challenge for a flag, this season will be a write off. As it stands even looking at a flag position is now all but assured to be gone.

It's not like the premier league where you are always fighting for a Champions League place or a Europa place or to avoid relegation.

Carlton are shot as far as a contender this year unless they somehow win 3 of the next 4. Unless that happens, start planning for next and capitalize as much as possible on what you can get out of this year (ie. depth in youth, and attack the draft to support your challenge next year).

Funny how any opinion other than "kiss the clubs ass" is met with name calling around here.
