We were favourites for each of those thrashings we received Wookie.
Itss not about just losing... its how you lose and to whom.

Emergency board meeting after 4 losses? lol.

This is probably a fair point.............

BUT

Our next four matches are against

Geelong
WestCoast
Bye
Hawthorn
Collingwood

Lose all four of those games and an EBM could be imminent !!!!

You have to remember, The club stated that they will not take anything less
than a top 4 finish. If this is not achieved then someone needs to be held
accountable.

Stephen Kernahan . “Synbad, we live in a world that has Stadiums, and those stadiums have to be filled by supporters and fans. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Synbad? I have more responsibility here than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Setanta, and you curse the recruiters. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Setanta delisting, while tragic, probably saved Bower. And that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves Carlton. I know deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you don't want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like process, audit, accountability. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent playing for something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the Great Football Club I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you get back to your key board , and write another condescending post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!”

An Emergency Board Meeting would be a sure sign that the board is a dysfunctional rabble, fuelled by factions, agendas, mateship, patriarchy, self-delusion and incompetence.

They should be meeting regularly, they should know exactly what's going on, and NONE of this should come as any kind of a surprise unless they are indeed a dysfunctional rabble.

You don't call a board meeting just because you start playing like rubbish. As a board member, you should already intimately know the issues affecting the club, and you should be well aware of the club's strategy for success, because you have instigated the process and signed-off on it.

The board either has faith in the people THEY HAVE put in place, or they don't. Kernahan and his football department sub-committee have put together a comprehensive 5 year plan, which seemingly consists solely of winning 3 flags by being really good and stuff, and by doing things that other clubs have done in the past.

If this magnificently clever scheme isn't working out quite the way they hoped, I'd suggest a set of full-length mirrors is what's needed, rather than an emergency meeting to try and find a convenient scapegoat.

Let's see. Ratten's taken us from nothing but our greatest ever rabble to the point of actually playing for top spot a few weeks ago, even if we did stuff it up, we have huge injuries in our most important structural spots, not to mention alot of injuries to any replacements, a few out of form, not to mention important blokes, who are actually playing, that missed much of the pre-season. Not the first side to have a bad patch and eventually come out of it, as we did in 2010, and won't be the last (as Worsfold would testify too). We achieved targets each year thus far and due to circumstances this might be the first we don't. Don't think an emergency Richmond board meeting (sh1t forgot, it's Carlton) is going to happen somehow. Wouldn't be one coach that wouldn't be cut some slack from that. If it was it'd be the knee-jerk reaction that happened to Dean Bailey last year after that Geelong debacle. Fat lot of good that did. After a couple of heavy losses there's so many mindless moronic posts from people that simply have no ability to think or analyse a situation "under pressure". Makes them basically weaker mentally than the people they criticise in the p1ss weak way they handle losses.

I do accept we have fight alot harder than we have. A couple of those recent games were so goddamn weak. Similar to that patch in 2010 but we turned it around. What to last year efforts when we fought tooth and nail every game no matter the circumstances. Never thrashed. This year is a step back in that area but when you play "dead" for years as we did under Pagan, then when we tanked sometimes it's too easy to slip back into that mindset making for a culture that is far from perfect.

Excuses, Excuses, the facts are Ratten has had 5 years to get us to the Holy Grail and has failed...Granted is has done all he could to take us this far but the reality is that he can't take us any further..

Brett Ratten = Grant Thomas = Wasted Opportunities....Yeah we make make the top 8 and yes we may even win a finals games or 2 but the bottom line is that under Ratten we will not win a flag..

Short of the board getting out there and playing for us, just how do you think the Board impacts the player performance?

Should only do these things at the end of the year when you can be cold, hard and calculating when making a decision. Doing it during the middle of the season when emotions are up (either anger or joy) can lead to a decision people can regret later on ... just like getting married
