Yarran was still injured against the Saints and Waite was carrying an injury..Duigan was looking for match fitness..not excuses but prefer if this stff happens now.. still confiddent we will do very well 2nd half of year providing we have a healthy list.

So we played them thinking we had no depth already???

So you think the coach was ontop of things playing unfit players???

Even by what you say....the coach is a dud !!!

But the truth lies under so much.

Tactics? shit
Going on the front foot in games ??? shyt
Depth in crucial areas?? nope
Development ?? nup
Confidence? shyt no!!
Excuses. Roll of the tongue aplenty

So your okay with the efforts we are dishing up at the moment?

We aren't just being beaten we are being thrashed by average sides.

The side we had on the park last night still had more talent than Port but we lost by 9 goals in average conditions.

We are supposed to be a top 4 side.

I am sorry scarponi but it is that attitude that has us in this position in the first place.

Having followed Carlton for over 40 years but I have always loved was the lack of tolerance for poor performances. We were ruthless!

All temas go through a soft patch during a season its not a doomsday scenarion. A fairly good opportune moment for them to rally together and as key players are added to the staring team it will galvinise better performances - I have no doubt about it. Prefer if it happens now than later... Essendon* likely to go through a soft patch now with a full list to choose from. It happens

It's so important now than ever for these support back up players not lose confidence and belief - it's actually critical. Effort is very very poor but they are like headless choks without structure playing average teams with structure.

consider this

Backs: Brown, Tarrant, Reid, Johnson
Mids: Swan, Ball
Forwards: Krakouer, Macaffer

didn't fly to Adelaide to take on a white hot Crows team. Yet their teamates managed to came home with the 4 points while losing the only tall defender left on their list to another ACL at a crucial point in the game.
I'm feeling a little sick banging on about them but reality is they've set a standard which we are way off atm. Forget about rd 3, that was another universe.

Excuses is what we need not facts.

Ok... collingwood get hammered pretty rarely... even with more crucial injuries.

Its about respect!
Opposition respect them!

They do the right things from TOP to BOTTOM!!!

The structures stick.

We are about excuses.No structures.
Built on thin air!!!

But yeah... we gunna win flags!!!

We keep hiding behind the 'injuries' we have - instead of focusing on effort!

How's Gibbs traveling? Hammer? Garlett? Simpson?

I love my navy Blues but we are just not good enough...FULL STOP.

Our next 3 weeks we have Geelong, WCE and Hawthorn. We'll then be more than likely 6 wins 7 losses and very much in danger of missing the 8.

If my memory serves me correctly the club was talking up top 4 and that nothing less would be considered satisfactory.

What does missing the 8 all together mean?

This isn't pre school and its certainly not critical. By doing that you start to break down what the club stands for.

It is not about structure it is about belief and effort. The structure is a consequence of not having these.

We can gloss it any way we want. The players are lost and the only way to fix it is with a change at the top.

we dont have a warrior ethos.(The warrior ethos)Stephen Pressfield)

I don't have any "energy" left to go through this sheissenhausen. I sat through all the home games in the dark period, but now I don't even watch the TV - last night I went out instead. This is all doing my head in. I wish I could see some strong statement from the club, but nothing. We will get flogged the next 3 games and I wont be watching. I should, but I cant handle it. I a not going to vent and scream as others do, I just go into off season mode. I hope there are positive changes after the season ands we do not loose important players disillusioned by the lack of success. Wake me up once the nightmare is over.....

the way the team is playing is totally opposite of the way ratten played the game. he was gritty, hard at it, a fierce competitor, just struggling to see how he hasn't instilled these traits on the players

We all expected Byrce Gibbs to step up and become a bonafide "A" grade midfielder this year. If he had we would have covered the losses of Carrazzo and Murphy in the middle of the park.

The talls can be covered but let us not forget that Jamison is playing no where near the level he was prior to his knee injury last year.

This year has turned into a wasted year pretty quickly.

and were there depth talls all injured as well? - no

hampson is pretty much our only KPP forward atm - waite, rowe, casboult, mitchell, kreuzer, thornton all unavailable due to injuries

Of the players capable of playing down back - laidler, duigan, white, thornton, davies are all unavailable. The ONLY defenders we had to choose from were watson, bower and mccarthy - 2 of which played.

Gibbs - average
hampson - significantly better than most would have expected pre-season
garlett - struggling
simpson - has had a couple of quiet games but been good overall.

What does missing the 8 all together mean?

Most people identified cracks in our structures & gameplan well before our current injury crisis set in...

What this period is doing is giving apologists a convenient excuse that masks the reality...

I have no doubt Sticks and co will milk this excuse for all it's worth at seasons end.
