Jordan Russell may have worn the No. 2 guernsey on the field more times than Diesel, but he certainly hasn't played more games in it...

Alex Jesaulenko is the only Carlton player (and probably will remain that way) to ever kick more than 100 goals in a season.

The good thing about playing 100 games is no one can take that away from you. JR is a hundred game player and no amount of hate can change that.

Same applies to 99 games, (as Brad Fisher likes to say).

Carlton can also be found in Sydney and Tasmania...

There was a Carlton Football Club in Hobart, (also a Fitzroy) in the late 1880's, Perth 1890's, Newcastle/Lithgow area NSW 1890's, Sydney 1890's, and I believe there was one in Christchurch or Dunedin N.Z. which a former Blue had a hand in. All played Australian Football.

Wayne ''The Dominator'' Johnston twice trained with Carlton (after being signed on a Form 4) in 1978 and was rejected; and so went to VFA Club Prahran (The Two Blues) and played in a Flag there; and then asked Carlton for a clearance to Melbourne.

New Coach Alex Jesaulenko said "'I'd like to see him play before clearing anybody''......that year 1979 saw Dom star in the Carlton Premiership win.....what a legend!

@#$%&! he was good.

Equal best player ever imo...equal in value with the likes of Big Nick, Jezza, Southby, Doull, Silvagni, Braddles...and on it goes...what a great club we have decided to support...plenty of 'em.

Barracking for Carlton is one of my life's bona fide "good choices".

When Melbourne won the bidding to host the 1956 Olympic Games - the original bid plan was for the main stadium to be built at Princes Park and for Carlton to have their home in the new stadium after the Olympic Games.

When this plan was over turned by infighting and State Politics, Sir Kenneth Luke our then President (who then went on to be President of the VFL) was so incensed that this then became the catalyst for the VFL's purchasing 212 acres of land at Mulgrave and the development of VFL Park.

Below is an artists impressions of what it may have looked like:

It may be old and dated now - but would have been something in the late 50s early 60s.

Not quite as interesting, but as a footnote:

I think during those pre-season trials it came down to a choice between Wayne Johnston and Phil Cleary, luckily we chose The Dominator.

I wish I could remember the game....I think vs Collingwood; when he announced to his team mates at half time''I'm going to go out in the second half and dominate''.....and he always did.

That nickname was originally invented by himself at Chasers Night Club, when he was out on the tear with Mark MacLure; Jimmy Buckley, and Michael Young among others.

One of them asked Johnno how he was going with the girls; and he said ''I'm dominating''.....and he eventually passed out under a table after a gazillion beers.

When they woke him; they started calling him Dominator or Dom rather derisively; but in good humour.

The next day at training; everyone called him Dominator; and the legend was born.

Although MacLure was the main instigator in calling him Dom all the time; today he calls him Johnno......
