Jordan Russell has played more games in the No 2 guernsey than Greg Williams.

Jordan Russell may have worn the No. 2 guernsey on the field more times than Diesel, but he certainly hasn't played more games in it...

Alex Jesaulenko is the only Carlton player (and probably will remain that way) to ever kick more than 100 goals in a season.

The games record holder for the No 18 guernsey is Arthur Sanger.

The good thing about playing 100 games is no one can take that away from you. JR is a hundred game player and no amount of hate can change that.

Carlton defeated Melbourne in Round 2 1953 and didn't win another game at the MCG until we defeated Melbourne in the semi final in 1962 by 2 points

I always said when I was a kid that when we played at the G in that era, someone was tilting the ground as we never got the bounce of the ball there :screwy:

Carlton showed Roy Cazaly the door whilst he was playing for the Carlton Reserves in 1909 (or abouts then) - told him he wasn't good enough.

Our development program issues go a fair way back...

Not to mention Greg Williams...

Sir Redmond Barry, one of the founders of the Carlton Football Club, was the presiding judge in the Eureka Stockade trials, and also the judge who sentenced Ned Kelly to death.

When he sentenced Kelly to death by hanging, Lord Justice Barry uttered the customary words "May God have mercy on your soul". According to the transcripts, Kelly replied "I will go a little further than that, and say I will see you there when I go". On 23 November 1880, twelve days after Kelly's execution, Sir Redmond Barry died from doctors termed 'congestion of the lungs and a carbuncle in the neck'.

You can add Graham Arthur to that.

When Melbourne won the bidding to host the 1956 Olympic Games - the original bid plan was for the main stadium to be built at Princes Park and for Carlton to have their home in the new stadium after the Olympic Games.

When this plan was over turned by infighting and State Politics, Sir Kenneth Luke our then President (who then went on to be President of the VFL) was so incensed that this then became the catalyst for the VFL's purchasing 212 acres of land at Mulgrave and the development of VFL Park.

Below is an artists impressions of what it may have looked like:

It may be old and dated now - but would have been something in the late 50s early 60s.

Did they also plan to use the Olympic Flame tower to launch the Saturn V rockets to the moon?

Princes Park is 38.6 hectares (95.4 acres). It is home to the Carlton Football Club - or 'The Blues'. It's exactly the same size as the famous Polo complex at Stedham, West Sussex, owned by the late Kerry Packer during the 1980s. Packer sold the Polo complex to Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea FC, otherwise known as ....'The Blues'.
