Surely Curnow doesn't get a game ahead of Ellard

Not many teams going in with the one ruck, probably not by choice. Not many more going in with two. Plenty with three.....

Surely with Waite out and Thornton dropped we are not actually playing 3 rucks. One is taking Waites position.
It is not like the 3rd tall (ruck if you will) is taking the place of a running player and upsetting our balance and run. The 3rd tall will be replacing a tall forward.

I dont think all 3 will play either though.

..yeah, don't think we'd play all 3 as ruck/fwds.. ..but it won't go well cos we dont play a KPF as the main target, [or as a target at all].. ..we're just saying "lets play our tallest guys in ruck and up fwd, bonza"..

True - although a lot of them have played a full game in the ruck beforehand, and could well do if one of the incumbents pulls a hammy in the first 5 minutes. My criteria was basically whether they could do this, or whether they were vulnerable when it came to a tall vs. small discussion at selection table (Carlisle, Pedersen)

Like the Brock Medal or The Johnson Cup.

Could be the only silverware we get this year.

Kruiz cannot hold a mark at the moment so why not give him a run at CHB? At the very least it will help out the age old problem we have when the opposition resting ruckman kick bags on us.

@Rhino -- ..those names though while able to play in the ruck, it's only due to ruck problems that they do.. ..and even then, some coaches would be praying they don't screw up their kpps..

..e.g - imagine if roughy goes down longterm playing ruck, or hawkins?.. ..imagine dee's with clark on the stretcher..

Would rather Bower at CHB with Henderson forward and a ruckman dropped.

Just too tall and immobile. Frawley and Rivers will be looking forward to Sunday.

So Ratts believes Thornton is a pain in the ass?

Did we just invent an injury???

Yet Hawkins was garbage/VFL fodder until they swung him into the ruck, Hawks looked shoddy with Renouf as back up ruck, put Roughy in there, and changes the dynamics of the team and their forward line. Clarks' only decent full year to date was the one he played in the ruck all season too.

Not many players with the size that coaches have the luxury of avoiding playing there. Goodes is probably the only one I can think of.

aren't the final teams announced at 5ish?
i couldnt think of any good reasons to drop Bower, he's in his best form for a few years and has been our second best backman
Thats bizarre if true

Curnow must have photos of someone's wife.

Anyhow I'll try and get back into positive mode... you just feel like you were promised 60 day aged wagyu beef and got coles gravy beef on clearance special instead.

Bower dropped? I really don't get it. This is more art than science.

I'm happy with all the other changes, just Curnow should be out instead of Bower.

It's not going to be that wet on Sunday and hopefully the ground will have dried out a bit from today's drenching.
