Probably.
I think we have a chance over the next 2 weeks to get some of our "mojo" back and to me that's important now.
Anything can happen after that but lets see how we come up in 2 weeks time.

Crows smashed us last week and they had 3 ruckmen playing.

Tippett, Jacobs & Jenkins.

Kreuz & Hendo will drop out anyhow, and Watto will get a crack.

Watto is the statue of limitations!!!

Tippet is a forward.
Jenkins is a first year player
Jacobs smashed us

None of our talls are in great nick.

Watson is the statue of limitations...!!!!

@ club.. yeah we must win and turn our season around... though im not confident.

Im very interested to see how we set up

I'm surprised Melb dropped Davey

I thought he was to have his birthday party at the G this Sunday

Here's a question to anyone - if Hendo & Kruezer are both out, then who play's CHF? Bower, Watson, Jamison?
If they are both out and we dropped Thornton - then we deserve to lose!

Don't know mate. Just really can't see him as a forward. I hope your right and I'm wrong. I've also had this conversations with others who agree with you but I'm not afraid to go on record and say .... don't think so.

If ever the stage was set for somebody to face down their critics, this is the week Brock Mclean. 30 touches and a stack of clearances might just resurrect a career. Then again it might just expose him as well.

I was half expecting the 3 rucks for this week. Warnock is our best tap ruckman and was on the verge 2 weeks ago - seems fair enough. Kruezer has really struggled in the ruck, so why not play him at CHF without Waite in our forward line? Both Krooz and Hammer are athletic enough to play KP. Just have to learn to play the positions, so I am livid we haven't tried this previously. I don't give a shit if it didn't work for Essendon* because Essendon* don't have our 2 players mobility!
I actually think we look a little slow in the midfield with Robinson & McLean but atleast they will both hopefully give 100% and get their fair share of the pill and maybe use the runners to get it into open spaces.
Yep agree club - will be interesting to watch this unfold.
Believe it or not - I have a good feeling about this game.....don't ask me why though!

I think we both know you don't just "learn" to play KP. Not exactly a recipe for winning a flag. If it was that easy one wouldn't bother drafting KP forwards. Just get lots of ruckmen to do duel roles. Rarely in history have ruckmen made gun forwards. Can think of Salmon, McKernan, and possibly Simon Madden.

BTW I think Ryder is as mobile as any of our ruckmen. Mobility is one thing, actually having the ability to play as a KP forward is another.

Huge injury list. The cupboard is bare. Everyone available selected.
Surely we can't lose against The Demons.

Buckley and Kerr unlucky.
Expecting the young ones Bootsma Watson and Collins as emergencies.
Wouldn't mind seeing them play though.
Because it is against Melbourne.

I hope it is dry during the game. If it's not it doesn't matter. As long as we don't allow to get their hands on the footy first.
I really like the idea of really tall targets in the KPF positions. They can take chest marks in the wet. big bodies help.

We have the fleet to feed off them: Betts, Garlett, Walker and Armfield. All can play midfield too.
I think for this Carlton team 2 tall KPs are better than 1, and imo our two are more than ruckmen.
Good targets. I hope Warnock plays and shows something.
I'm sure he'll run out of puff before 3/4 time and Ratts will bring on a runner....Lucas?

Good luck to Robbo and McLean. I'm sure Judd will appreciate them there, and Scotto and Simmo to support. Different.
Weird to have McLean, Curnow, Joseph, Ellard and Robbo playing in the same team....and 3 ruckmen.
Ratts isn't picking for speed there. Maybe making a statement. I hope something great comes from these selections.

Lets not kid ourselves though, all this bravado at the selection table is because we're playing The Demons, and the cupboard is bare. No real surprises.

I do expect us to thrash them.

Thats the balance of a back six i have wanted to see for a while. Two talls, Touhy and 3 onball types.
I would happily wear a few contested marks knowing that if they dont mark it we can play it out of there.

Am happy to give AJ another go. Had a nightmare against Milne but otherwise isnt too bad. Needs to recapture that form of last half of last year.

Thornton was terrible last week. Not the only one but he stood out as lazy and disinterested. Worse body language that 2010. Russ was off the mark also.

Get a good running team in. Hampson playing where Waite would and Warnock taking Hampsons spot in the ruck.
It wont come down to the talents of each player this week. It will come down to effort and players wanting to get the team back on track.Lets just hope the strategy involves matching numbers around the stoppages and engaging in the battle amongst uber congestion.

I cant wait to watch how this unfolds.

What happens if we lose ????

Getting any fresh air lately Synbad, since the Blues have put in a couple of bads ones your posting rate has gone through the roof.

You dominate most threads with the same points of view. It's a boring read....

You're not getting it. As we said it's not about talls it's about how many ruckmen. Ruckmen aren't specialist KP forwards, the latter who can actually play the position. Big difference. It's not that hard.

Tippett is a forward.

It won't work out of hope.

Kreuzer was meant to have a rest against GWS so can see him out.

Not sure what Collins would bring to the table.

I think that If we are going to play Brock then let him be the in and under role like Judd has been and Judd can take the Murphy spread role. Lets face it Judd will definitely be tagged this week with Murph out so let Brock play the same role that he plays in the 2s.

Hendo on Watts either at CHB or CHF - Jamo on Clarke.

Ellard and Lucas will probably get a game due to rotations

Curnow could do with a run in the 2s -

Worth giving Bootsma another run late in the game

Jim we have 2 mobile Ryders. I just hope we spent enough time into them over the pre-season in forward play. One of them looks ok and has shown some signs, the other I would like to see further up the field (CHF) where we can run around a little more and use himself on the ground as well! I think it can work.

Who says we re going to go the 3 ruckmen ? Reckon Kreuz might miss this week...
Watson might make his way in for Hendo as well according to Robbo on 360....

If all 3 ruckmen play, expect a Swans type performance. Lots of Stoppages with different midfield combos, trying different tactics against what is surely going to be a midfield crowd again this week.

Don't worry Murphy will be back after the bye they said... No worries we'll be right.

Oh that's right they bs'd about that too... Not that it came as a shock a broken bone will always be min 8 weeks...

The club treats its supporter base like Gillard treats the voting public.

I just hope Gibbs explodes this week... And doesn't shirk the contest again.
