Thornton wouldn't fix the midfield with Murphy and Carrazzo out...

Henderson being a possible out is more of concerning. Half expect Kreuzer and Henderson to be late withdrawals with Thornton and Watson replacing them.

Nothing stopping Joseph from tagging Jones. That's his go. Not the back pocket where he's mostly sucked. Joseph's disposal and runs through the middle are more cluey than Armfield's. One is in favour because he's hard and fast. Shame Armfield has the fastest turnovers in the AFL.

Yep cos we need to worry about Jones... hes ripping every side a new one...

Struggling to whittle that bench down.

Maybe Bootsma, Collins, Ellard, Lucas?

Can't really see Watson getting a gig, sounds like he's slowly building some mojo in the 2's so I'd leave him there. Would like to see Bower stay in but also like Collins to get a go as well.

Final teams can't come soon enough.

Ratten says axes will be swung, players dropped, statements made.

The only statement here is that he's full of .

From this point I give up on anything this guy says... No premierships will occur while Ratten is in the top job.

Probably will be launching them from back of the centre square.

Synbad, only problem with that is you have to win the footy and on recent clearance work the only kicks will be wide out to the wings under pressure...

I'm surprised that anyone is surprised by the changes.

Thornton had 4 touches and Russell has been struggling. Duigan should have been out regardless.
Joseph had been good prior to the St Kilda game, and small forwards have been cutting us up.

From the extended bench, Bootsma, Bower and Ellard should be certs with one of Collins and Lucas to make up the last spot.
Curnow out and Watson not in.

 There's already 4 changes and it will probably be 5.
What did you want, half the team out?

Interesting to here james hird comment during the week that playing hill, ryder and bellchambers at the g in windy, rainy conditions did not work.

I suppose we are different....

I think Mclean must be given some time in the team. A week in occasionally would not give any player a chance to settle and feel comfortable within the team. We know what he was recruited for and I know what a lot of supporters think about the trade. It's the last year of his contract I believe, we are obviously struggling at the moment and I feel there is insufficient on field leadership. Make no bones about it Brock Mclean is a leader. As we should all know the most talented footballers don't always make the best coaches. It can be same with leadership. Our team needs to be a team. At present a lot of our players are playing for survival, there hesitant in their actions in case they make a mistake. We know Juddy's just Juddy, he leads by example but is he natural leader. I don't think he is. Brock Mclean has a very good football brain. He was touted as a future captain of Melbourne( I know don't laugh) some time ago. We know Brocky is slow and his disposal is not up to scratch at times but he can handball and we have no one in this present team that can do that creatively. As they say it's no point being quick if you can't get your hands on the footy.

2 players have been dropped. And arguably not the 2 that deserved to be the most.

Smoke and mirrors at Visy Park.

Aside from Duigan, who is out anyway, who deserved to be dropped more than Thornton and Russell?

Oh my god, I'm shocked at the selections :-)

What a joke, so bloody predictable. Kids as emergencies isn't a statement.

after watching the northern blues last week, i CANT BELIEVE JOSEPH is getting a game!!!!
he was very very ordinary.
kreuzer, hampson and warnock, gee whiz, very brave, or very stupid.
lucas, collins, bootsma and brock all deserve there shot.
would like too see watson getting a crack also.
interesting times coming up.

no more than you can count on Thornton being the whipping boy....again. Absolute bullshit. Provides so much more than Bower.

One could argue Gibbs was in the thick of the action, could have stood up... Didn't. To think people see this bloke as future captain...

Kruezer had 3 possessions up until 3 qtr time, Had the chance to put his physical stamp on the game several times... Didn't.

Curnow was beyond useless

Happy to name names. SENIOR players needed to be made an example of.

Gibbs - didn't go in hard enough and squibbed another contest. They call Josh Hunt a ducker... There is a piece of footage from EACH of the last three games and also against Essendon* where he absolutely jibbed it.

Kreuzer - maybe more in need of a rest than being dropped but he's been poor of late... especially if Warnock is fit.

Curnow - fails to hold a tackle. Can run, that's about it.

If Ratten had not come out and said, via the club, that examples would be made and changes would happen, I wouldn't really give a toss. But really the members and supporters are being told its raining when really they're receiving a golden shower.

It's absurd.

This is the reason why that footy club in the US was bottom of the ladder when it turned over its coaching and selection panel to its Internet supporters.

Curnow, absolutely agree and he should be an out tomorrow arvo. You have to realise that as a Sunday game they can't make all the changes today.
Kreuzer doesn't look right, but he still offered more than T-bird. Hopefully we are well up and he can be subbed off in the third quarter.
Gibbs  He's had one bad game.
