Is Warnock a chance?

Would love to see Gibbs and Walker play midfield wing for the whole game, Eddie and Jeffy in bursts in the midfield.

I'm a bit worried too 3-4 goal win for us.... :yikes: although I'll still be making the trip there.

Why would any Carlton supporter actually want us to lose this game.

They want Ratten and Sticks out.

So outs...
Duigan, Russell, Hendo, Murphy, for starters?

Ins
Bootsma for Duigan?
McLean for Murphy?
+ two. Who's a chance? Warnock to ruck and Hampsson for Hendo?

Our forward line will have Thornton (former FB) and maybe Bower (HB) as the tall options. That doesn't bode well for those of us who would like to see Gibbs upfield. Unless they are planning on having the ball in out half all game.

I can't believe you want Bootsma running around and not Buckley. Then again you didn't see his game on the weekend.

LIke to think I'm a glass half full man, but flower me, these outs are really concerning me. Our odds are an unbelievable $1.04, how on earth can that be?? We were $1.13 v Bombers and $1.25 v Saints.

Down two of our three best mids, CHB, CHF, most assured backman (Laidler) and quite a few who can't get near it at the moment (read JR, Zach, Gibbs etc).

If Dees bring the same intensity as that Saints game a few weeks ago (their bad press this week has virtually g'teed this), this could be one interesting afternoon...

This game has to be close now. Our team on the park will be only marginally better than the Dees. Both teams with pride at stake. Can't quite beleive it's come to this :yikes:

Not sure wny Lucas has been potted so badly. Sure he had an average one last time he played, but he still kicked two and started sub in one or two other games so only played a quarter from memory. At least he's got talent and knows where the goals are, which is much more than I can say for a few others.

So, Melbourne have won a total of 4 quarters out of the 32 that they have played this year. They win 1 quarter every 2 games.

Out: Murphy, Duigan, Curnow
In: McLean, Bootsma, Lucas

Possibly
Out: Kreuzer/Henderson
In: Warnock

We must win this one ... we have some tough games coming up (Geelong / Westcoast / Hawthorn / Collingwood) and we won't have Murphy or Carrots or Laidler for most of them. If we drop the Melbourne or Port matches we will be in serious doubt for the finals ... let alone top 4.

I think true to form Ratts will not make many changes and perhaps...

OUT: Murphy (inj) Duigan (inj)

IN: Lucas Bootsma (McLean Collins Buckley)

Lucas has pace for the wings if Scotland and Simmo are going to be needed with Robbo in the guts. I'd expect Tarrs would have the latter 3 as emergencies.

I'd really want to give McLean a go for the tough stuff (if he is really that tough), and that would mean someone else has to go if Ratts is true to his word about changes...Russell perhaps. He offers less than Curnow imo.

I thought Curnow was a bit more than a headless chook last weekend. He got his hands dirty and tried harder than Russell imo...I'd drop both of them if I could and give Buckley his first taste of AFL.

Warnock couldn't possibly be fit, but if he's fit enough to work with Hampson and take needed rest on the IC (ie carry he him a bit) then if Kreuzer needs a rest, this game is the one to rest him. If Hampson was to ruck on his own against Jamar, I guess the relieving ruckman would be TBird against Jamar. :yikes: Jamar can ruck all day if he has to.

I don't think we'd lose the game if lost in the ruck, and we have to get Warnock up and running for the Geelong, WCE games.

Surely we can't lose this one???????????????

for goodness sakes Ratts just start with picking players who can win or halve a contest - without that no amount of tactical genius will suffice

Defender Nick Duigan and forward Jarrad Waite were ruled out of the Blues' clash with Melbourne and Ratten said to expect a host of other changes to the side that lost to Adelaide on Sunday.

Ruckman Robert Warnock is likely to come in.

I'd bring in McLean, Collins and Warnock for Murphy, Duigan and Thornton.

Collins to HF, Gibbs to HB, Robbo into midfield rotation, Hampson to FF and Kruezer/Warnock in the ruck.
Bringing in kids who aren't ready is foolish IMO and could actually stall their development.
