At my place of work, about 30% of workers are Carlton supporters.

We had a small gathering and todays discussions were short and sharp and consisted of "How shit are we".

And for the first time from a couple of them, they have come out with, "It's time to Sakc Ratten"

NO they're not "shit supporters" but extremely disappointed at they way, the team
is playing and the tripe they have been dishing out over the last few weeks.

With first reactions some are starting to worry that the club has no direction.

We all love our Carlton Club and we demand success and nothing less !!!!

How it will it come about, is anyone's guess right now !!!!

It can`t just be a change of coach, the whole place needs an overhaul and change in culture. Sticks has been there too long now. Too many bad decisions and wasted opportunities. Too associated with the Elliott days. I can understand him wanting to be there when we return to a power club but now he`s just causing more damage than good. The timing is right for a new, professional board. We need a president who can make hard decisions, has a genuine plan, understands the media and promotes the club.

Sack him when we can't make or don't finish top 4. If we go into the last round 5th and a chance to go 4th and don't, sack him and let Richo or Brown coach the final(s).

Boy, you are optimistic. You still think we are a chance to finish top 4? I have huge doubts that we will make the 8.
Hope i am wrong and you are right.

We're five wins / three losses and will probably be seven wins / three losses at the end
of round ten. That's not sh*t. That's a team that's good, but has not yet made to leap
to very good.

I think that there's been a bit of an over-reaction.

I'm using it as an example, in that I don't want us to scrape 8th then hope we can somehow win 2 finals be in a prelim and claim its mission accomplished.

have you been the last cpl of weeks kev?

give it 6 weeks and with our draw over that time we will be lucky to be 7-7 with a % thats slightly above 100. thats average.

average on last years performance and this years start is us going backwards.

backwards is shit. case closed.

Let hope we beat Melbourne and get some form before we play Port. If we can get to 7-3, atleast we are in with a fighting chance because the next 4 weeks is where it really starts - Geelong, WC (perth), Hawthorn & Collingwood. We have 2 weeks to get it right for the month of finals footy. But as they say one week at a time, starting with Melbourne.

ps. I'll just add will know how good or not this group is by then.

Problem now is that onfield performances have not lived up to the weight of expectations in a record membership year. If you get all those members on the back of a rising tide and then fall away there will be more than a few disaffected customers feeling short changed. Many on here I assume are rusted on types like me that make an annual donation to the club regardless, but the weight of expectation from those less rusted on could become a deafening howl.

You cant go and actively market to people on the back of an expectation of success or at least an improving chance of success and then fall away when the going gets tough. I know what Boards do to a CEO that fails to meet target after making big promises. I know what the market does to a share price after failing to meet financial estimates. We have gone and signed up a record number of members and they collectively, probably feel that they have at least tacitly been promised a degree of competitiveness if not success. Failure to consistently live up to this can only have 1 outcome, you find a way or you lose your support.

The comments about 'Shit Supporters' are disappointing. Most people (myself included) have no idea what goes on at the footy club. We get emails and newsletters from the marketing dept, we read the HUN and the Age and we go to the games or watch Fox Footy. When what many see doesn't live up to what they think they were promised before they ponied up, they get angry and demand something be done about it to get them back the product they thought they were signing up for. If you cant consistently dish up a superior product then don't have a thinly veiled aura of inferred success as a key tenet of your membership drive. Vicious circle ensues.

Main point here is dont blame the general fans out there. They aren't getting the product they thought they paid for. I know nobody can guarantee success in this game but you cant blame the average supporter for feeling short changed with what the team has been dishing up lately.

Dunno, ask Synners he is charge of digging and filling the shit pit. Seriously some of the commentary is beyond hysterical at the moment.

Me, I am more interested in how the players address what happened and how they are going to handle close physical pressure that will inevitably come thier way. Much better to cop the rough treatment now and learn how to handle it effectivly rather than have it happen in the finals.

Look at he draw. If it takes 13 wins to make the 8 we are borderline. 4th is gone

Actually BM you give me too much credit.
I can say with all seriousness.. i have no involvement in the way the club plays.
Performance is purely club related !!!.... you should be watching with interest how the officers(coaches) arent turning this into an ANZAC cove.

You stay in your little ditch with interest on how the players handle close physical pressure.(For the finals) and dont forget your coat.

Too early to discount top 4 - coaches need to dig deep and players need to dig in.

Things to do while your team is shit.

Visit that gymkhana you always wanted to see,so you can say..'ooh, lashings of ginger beer)

Alphabetise your book & CD collection (jimmae, I know yours is already done :-D)

Visit the zoo, always a calming experience

Go bowling

Watch uplifting sports movies where shit teams always end up winners.

Watch your shit team turn into a winner again.

Cant see top 4 myself now - perhaps if we have another honorable loss interstate in a final we can again rationalise and say next season will be better
Pathetic the last 3 weeks - drop a few make a statement - play a few kids because in essence the same people let us down and it is unlikely now this group will take us to the ultimate

Are we going to be intimidated by Moloney jones et al on sunday -no other team has been but after the last 3 weeks who knows -are we going to be scared if clarke or Jamar decide to try and rough us up

Havent played cats hawthorn or west coast yet - couldnt realistically think we would beat any of them -Adelaide hadnt won in melbourne the last 15 times -what the hell :banghead:

I get the feeling this could our equivalent of the year Geelong had in '06 where they finished 10th, did some soul searching and came back to win the thing....

(well that's my optimistic self talking)

or it could be our version of the year Brisbane had 2-3 years ago when they brough in fev, started the season on fire then plummeted like a lead balloon and are still there.
